Why the HATE?

Prayer has been banned from high school, and they are trying to ban the Pledge of Allegiance because it has 'God' in it. Bibles are not allowed to keep in your locker unless you are taking a class on religion.

DID YOU NOT READ IT!? HOW ABOUT BY EVERYONE ON MY FRIGGEN BASKETBALL TEAM!!! EVERYBODY ON my BASEBALL TEAM!! EVERYONE THAT SEES THE CROSS THAT I WEAR ON MY NECK AND LOOKS AT ME FUNNY!?

Oh yeah, like all those who look at me funny for my long hair, tattoos, tie dye bandanna.
I do not think that is necessarily "persecution".
It is being a bit oversensitive.

What about the rest of it? I admit that it isnt as bad as old times, but we are still persecuted and mocked constantly

No, it hasn't. You've been misinformed. You can pray all you want at school. What has happened is that when you go to a school assembly, they will not lead you all in a prayer to Allah. Do you have a problem with that?

There is no movement to ban the Pledge of Allegiance, with or without God in it.

They won't allow you to bring a Bible to school? Are you sure? That sounds wrong to me. Have you tried it? Can you bring any other religious texts to school?

Ok? So what, people look at you funny because you don't dress at the 'norm' i dont either, but who cares? That is your free choice and would easily be changed

The rest of it (banning prayer, etc.) is false.

Please tell me exactly what form this persecuting and mocking takes. What do people do exactly? Other than look at you funny.

obviously you arnt exactly informed on the rules of high school due to how long it has been since you went there, but I am in High School, and believe me, A lady was trying to remove the pledge from the schools, but it wasnt even close to passing

Yup. Not very oppressive, is it?

Have you tried to take your Bible to school? Does your school have a rule against it?

No one is banned from praying to God.

Mathew 6:5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Show me one official school policy banning bibles.

As the Pledge contains a reference to God, it is tantamount to state sponsored religion.

Now, where is your REAL persecution?

try being constantly mocked daily for being a christian. How about being made fun of for refusing weed? (I have done that twice, and have been mocked a LOT for that.)

Prayer was banneed. You are not allowed to pray out loud, because it will 'offend' people.

I call bull. If this is true (which I doubt) you should call the ACLU. It's unconstitutional.

However, the same First Amendment guarantees that students may engage in many forms of non-disruptive personal religious expression, including the wearing of religious clothing and jewelry. They can pray (individually or in student-led groups) on the school bus, at the flagpole, before lunch, in the corridors, in the classroom before and after lessons, at sports events, etc. They can talk freely about religion to other students outside of class. They can distribute religious literature. If there are any student-led clubs in the school, they have the right to organize student-led Bible prayer clubs.

These rules are applied equally to all religions. So how exactly is it oppressing you?

Did you bother to read the verse from Mathew?

Would you be offended if three times a day, certain students threw down prayer mats, faced Mecca in the middle of the class, and began chanting their prayers aloud? Or at least annoyed?
