Why the HATE?

I agree, but Christians still should be completely confident that the only way is through Jesus, but respect others philosophies and ideals.

If you are completely confident that they only way is through Jesus, how is it possible to sincerely respect other (false) religions that actively deny that way?

By not being a jerk about it? That when you tell people about your 'religion' you dont use the usual, "IF YOU DONT FOLLOW JESUS YOU'RE GOING TO HELL" approach.

I believe in Jesus Christ. In college, I learned about many different religions. Never once did I have HATE toward any other religion/deities. So why is it such a strong HATE towards Jesus Christ? Why the hostility? I will share why I think hate rears its ugly head anytime Jesus is brought up in a conversation with or around non believers. I think its because the truth hurts. I have noticed the same type of hate when the truth its revealed in other instances. One can talk about the Dalai Lama /Buddha/satan/atheists beliefs- all day around me. I believe every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is LORD. So I listen and ask my questions ( if speaking with ppl who believe different from me about religion) and move on with my life. I share my testimony, maybe a few verses, then I'm done. I do not intentionally INSULT their beliefs!

But others seem to get a raging attitude and have the most sarcastic, disrespectful and inconsiderate comments about Jesus Christ. They also seem to be eager to break my spirit or try to make me feel dumb about my beliefs!...keep in mind that i don associate with rude ppl on purpose..the rudeness is hidden until religion becomes a topic! Someone asked me at work "how do you deal with the stress of having 3 sons?" I answered.." I pray a lot and lean on Jesus for strength and wisdom"...you would have thought that I said "I kill babies with chainsaws and rape old women"...the look I was given said 1000 words...and I just could not understand why at the time.

Why the hate??? What is your opinion?:)

r u serious? Are we in the same forum? In this forum, in the world in general, and throughout history, many, many more Christians have been oppressing, discriminating against, beheading and belittling non-Christians than the other way around.

Heck, the old definition of "atheist" includes "wicked." How would you like your beliefs to be equated with wickedness in the dictionary?

But is that what you believe? (IF YOU DONT FOLLOW JESUS YOU'RE GOING TO HELL)
If you were telling me about your religion, I may ask you about that.

What about emperor Nero. What about getting made fun of at school for being a Christian? What about the constant jabs from everybody asking about how we believe? People constantly mock our faith! People constantly just use sarcasm and rude comments to counter, when we want to discuss and debate, NOT be mocked!

I do believe that, but I dont throw it in peoples faces and bug people about it. You talk about Christ's love, not the brutality of denying him.

Agreed, i want to get back to the topic of the fact that Christians have been, and still are persecuted.

Well, I suppose there are a few obscure corners of the world in which Christians are persecuted, but it's really dwarfed by the Bahai, Jews, or Falun Gong. Why are you only concerned with Christians?

would you consider an American high school an obsure corner of the world?

Christians are persecuted in American high schools?!? Tell me more. What exactly happens to Christians in today's high schools? Are they beaten? Tortured? Kicked out? Bullied? What?

How does their treatment compare to say, gay boys in high school?

Did you know that Christian groups oppose efforts to end bullying in high school? That's right, groups like Focus on the Family are seeking to protect their right to bully gay teens, and that's more important to them than creating an atmosphere in which no one is bullied.

When I was in high school, (admittedly a long, long, time ago) there were routine prayers at school events in the name of Jesus Christ. I never remember hearing a prayer to any other deity or from any other religion at any school event.
