Why the HATE?

I don't why you guys are wringing your hands over FFH. He is a good god-fearing bible- believing christian doing what such people DO.

He may a bit extreme for some but NOTHING he has said that I've read can't be supported by scripture. He is simply taking the "faith" seriously. There is nothing illogical in anything he says IF you buy into his myth.
Where does the Bible say that playing cards are tools of Satan, the Santa myth is a form of devil worship, "Barak HUSSEIN Obama" is the anti-Chrst, or musicians go to hell?

The fact that you think FFH is a shining example of the Christian faith speaks volumes of your prejudice, and little else.

Gambling is forbidden and is a sin. It is not much of stretch to ascribe its existence to Satan. The Santa bit violates the 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me' bit.

As for Obama a plausible if not conclusive deduction from the scripture FFH has cited. You may disagree but the argument is logical - in its own terms.

As for musicians he does not condemn ALL. Only those serving Satan. He has e.g. a high regard for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. A somewhat different view of Janice Joplin. Again, you may disagree but the opinion is logical based on scripture.

As for his being a "shining example" no I don't think so. He is a bit extreme. But he is AN example. And if you think not simply point out where he has posted anything can't be supported by scripture.

I believe in Jesus Christ. In college, I learned about many different religions. Never once did I have HATE toward any other religion/deities. So why is it such a strong HATE towards Jesus Christ? Why the hostility? I will share why I think hate rears its ugly head anytime Jesus is brought up in a conversation with or around non believers. I think its because the truth hurts. I have noticed the same type of hate when the truth its revealed in other instances. One can talk about the Dalai Lama /Buddha/satan/atheists beliefs- all day around me. I believe every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is LORD. So I listen and ask my questions ( if speaking with ppl who believe different from me about religion) and move on with my life. I share my testimony, maybe a few verses, then I'm done. I do not intentionally INSULT their beliefs!

But others seem to get a raging attitude and have the most sarcastic, disrespectful and inconsiderate comments about Jesus Christ. They also seem to be eager to break my spirit or try to make me feel dumb about my beliefs!...keep in mind that i don associate with rude ppl on purpose..the rudeness is hidden until religion becomes a topic! Someone asked me at work "how do you deal with the stress of having 3 sons?" I answered.." I pray a lot and lean on Jesus for strength and wisdom"...you would have thought that I said "I kill babies with chainsaws and rape old women"...the look I was given said 1000 words...and I just could not understand why at the time.

Why the hate??? What is your opinion?:)
I don't know about other atheists, but I don't hate Jesus. He was a pretty cool dude. Sure, he thought he was God, but he didn't hurt anyone and pretty much spread a message of love. He also had a sexy body. Thin, lithe with a dark complextion and gorgeous hair. What's not to like?

Why the hate. Because people dont fancy somebody elses god to interfere with their life.

It's not the issue of god "interfering" that people have a problem with, but rather with those who think they're in a position to interfere on god's behalf.

I am a stranger here within a foreign land.
My home is far away upon a golden strand.
Ambassador to be to realms beyond the sea.
That is is my mission for my King.

Funny how some of the indoctrination stays with you - willing or no.

I don't think it's Jesus so much as his followers. I'm a non-believer, and I don't hate Jesus. I'm not too crazy about overzealous Christians who won't leave me in peace, but mostly it's not much of an issue.

Well thats a load of crap. Christians wont live in peace, but you are purposely on a religious forum, that is packed with Christians?

She's talking about those who harass and impose themselves upon others in real life. Frequenting a religious education board to have civil discourse with members of various faiths is completely different. The kind of Christian she spoke of rarely lasts long on here, anyway, as they usually get banned for trolling and proselytizing.

True, but most true Christians do not purposely mock, annoy, and pummel others beliefs. I dont even try to impose my beliefs on others in real life. Actually I hardly even talk about it with non-Christians. I come here to try to read about arguments that I could use if somebody challenges my belief.

Interesting.
I come on here to learn more of what others believe and why. And yes, even point out the ridiculous when it is offered publicly.

But you claim to come on here to learn how to defend your own beliefs. Wouldn't personal study of your own scriptures and statements of faith be a better preparation?

Agreeed, How can you know what arguments people will use untill you have been against them?

That's the point. Question your faith and everything you know. The more you question and the more you defend, the more confident you can be. Also, in the process, you learn about what others believe. And provided you have an open-mind, you can see the validity of some points they make and modify your views accordingly.

What I find most interesting is how much like FHH you sound in this particular post....

or the fact that some people think that their belief in god allows, excuses, and in some extreme cases, demands, that they interfere in the lives of others.

Funny how so many all powerful deities are completely helpless with their flocks of followers telling the rest of the world what their particular deity does not like......

Try telling them that. The ones that I've encountered would be more likely to tell you that you aren't a true Christian because you don't try to impose your beliefs on others.

As for the OP....
I don't know that I can really say anything more than what has already been stated. I agree with the sentiment that it's not Jesus that is the target of negativity, but his arrogant, narrow-minded followers.

I think that sometimes, because of their "my religion is the only way" philosophy, Christians (and the more zealous lot of other religions, but this thread is centered around Jesus) don't realize that theistic non-Christians (sorry for the generalization, but you know what I mean, right?) love their gods and goddesses, and respect them, as much as Christians love & respect their God. So it's incredibly disrespectful and insulting to be approached with the kind of attitude that the OP exhibited and others have mentioned previously.
