Why would God create Evolution?

It is here in the post you just made....'something there that starts the whole process'.
Science would have you believe....nothing moves without something to move it.

Now choose.....Spirit first?....or substance?

If substance first then all of life is physical....and terminal.
Man is a mystery without purpose.

If Spirit first....then you have shot of continuance.

Well, i did state that as an answer to a post that insists that there is some creator guy out there who got bored wallowing in his own existence and then started that creationist merry-go-round. I don't believe in any of it. i merely wanted an answer to my question. If there is a creator out there, then who is his mom? that's the short of it.
Since I do not believe in spirits--outside of a bottle i have never encountered any--then yes, matter/substance is the only thing that exists.

Your "continuance dilemma" does not exist either. We have a purpose in the here and now--some of us more so than others--and that is sufficient to get people up in the morning. I have yet to hear from an atheist that her/his life has no meaning just because there is no god around to promise some nebulous after life.

Expand your thinking....in the scheme of linear existence....
Someone had to be First in mind and heart.

That means no one preceded Him.

Now to answer how He formed His mind and heart....
we get to ask Him when we get there.

And we will.
The universe may be quite large but I think God knows where to find us.
We can't hide.

As for the afterlife....
Not much point having all of this chemistry up on two feet only to have each one crumble into the dust it was made from.

What?...7billion+ copies of a learning device....
7billion thinking, feeling, living people.....
and no one survives the last breath?

I don't believe in complete failure.

What difference would it make that nobody survives their last breath? That we are mortal, and whatever may or may not happen afterwards has no impact on the purpose, value or meaning of our lives whatsoever.

Thank you so much for this patronizing crap. I am fine without your idea of a god, or anyone else’s for that matter.

It would be nice, though, if you expanded your mind and got away from that idea that within the vastness of space, there is this little micro-managing god who gives a rat’s *** about some deluded little collections of DNA.

Seriously, if your god is all that and then some, why does he need worshipers that badly he needs to constantly assert that he is the only god, and why does he need to be such a bloodthirsty ******* who kills little kids? And what’s up with that son sacrifice.

I really like that story about the sons of God and daughters of man in genesis; isn't that just funny. So your god creates Adam and Eve and then there are also those sons of god and daughters of man around too. Seems A&E exist in some time warp or something. Yeah, fun stories that make little sense. But hey, your stories, not mine. If they help you make sense out of your existence. Good for you. I don’t need that stuff.

The afterlife too, is something you seem to need to make you happy. Who cares, I die, that’s the end and I get recycled. That’s the way it is. No need to go traipsing about in some imaginary heaven with all those bores plucking harps or whatever.

If there were 12 billion people who do not survive their last breath—which is a no brainer, else why call it the last breath—would you feel better? Is this a numbers game? And what failure? If you did not live your live to do something positive in this world, why should you then go on and be useless and mediocre in yet another place?

Living well and doing the right thing is not a failure. Depending on some god to give you purpose, now that is failure for sure.

This shows how unique i am.

Hmm. I made a small realization when reading this:

Most religious people really don't want to die: The essentially expect to be in control of their consciousness for all eternity: They do not want to let go of it.

So: They are afraid of death: They remove this fear by positing that when you die, you in fact live MORE and BETTER.

It's kind of sad. :/

I personally would not ever want to live eternally. I'm already getting a bit sick of some things happening in this world: So. I'll remain until i am no longer needed by the society and will become a burden to it. That is my time to go.

Going to give up on possibilities?...before you can look them over?

Sounds like you have cashed in your chips.
Too bad.
Dust we are. Dust we will be.

But I have intention to continue.
As such I suspect Something Greater.

If you are content to lay in your grave and rot......fine.

No, science would have us believe that no magic be necessary, but explainable phenomenon. Spirit is an explainable phenomenon else it is just magic, which isn't an answer just obfuscating the issue at hand. Spirit is substance is spirit, why create a distinction to begin with?

Yeah, what I said about patronizing crap? Still stands. Just because you subscribe to the terror ideation theory does not mean I have to be equally afraid of having a meaningless life.
Science and rational thought is what makes sense to me and I am not worried about what happens after I die. Body goes to science and then cremation. End of story and it’s all good. I won’t worry about rotting, it is actually a very good thing; return of nutrients to the soil and all that.

So, you then go on in eternity, hang out with other like-minded spirits and whatever else you think that after-life of yours has. I think so too, I will be recycled and live forever that way. See, Mr. Condescending Attitude, you think you have an afterlife and I know I have one. I guess we both get what we want.

Science and rational bolsters my belief in God.

As being recycled....I think not.
Not that I have ruled out reincarnation....but that isn't what you believe.....or is it?

Not that I can see how science and rational thought can increase anyone's belief in the supernatural, but hey, it seems to work for you.

Well. if you think that your body becoming worm food and part of the biological detritus, then yeah, I guess you can call that reincarnation. I am born from stardust and I shall become so again, ultimate recycling system.

But if you go for the religious version, then no. That doesn't look like it will work.

I'm not religious.
I just believe life is greater than flesh.
The Source is greater than flesh.

I have faith. I believe in Something Greater.
I do not have a religion.

No congregation, no list of prayers, no beads for your hand, no rug for your knee, no ceremony, no ritual, etc....etc....etc.....

I follow no one...no one follows me.

I believe because of science.....cause and effect.
The universe is the effect....God is the Cause.

Aha, same old crap, same old superiority complex. Whatever floats your barge down the Nile. and if you say that god is the cause then you are religious. you know, the quacks like a duck thingy? Yep, you got that going for you. Why you are in denial is a strange thing, but then again, if you believe in gods then everything is strange anyhow. Stop being a hypocrite and just accept yourself as what you are.

Not at all....and the shallow retort means nothing to me.

I do accept myself.
I'm more to mind if heaven will also do so.

Of course your denial will lead to eternal darkness.
