That's unfortunate for you^ Shivji is very powerful

lol ... of course, but not for me. The other forms of Siva, as with Murugan, are almost unheard of in the North. But it's all good.

I could say that the fact you have never been to a Murugan temple is really unfortunate for you, what good would that do? :)

When I think of Siva, I just see Nataraja, or Lingam. Maybe Dakshinamurthy. Always in granite, never marble. It is plain and simple. Each individual finds comfort in the familiarity.

Well what if I told you that you were wrong and that I have been to many Murugan temples.

Oh... Ratikala ji.. may I know who this is...? It is such a lovely, lovely picture, I wonder if it is Swami Vedanta Desika?

EDIT: I just noticed the saint has swami in his lap, as if petting a baby.. can't be Sri Vedanta Desika as I've never seen him in this pose, wonder who it is...

‘Aaha’ ‘Balam’ .....jai jai Narasimha , he is tenderly destroying Hranyakashipu, do you see Pralada at his knee ?

ahobilam-tower.jpg

he resides here at Ahobilam ,Andhra Pradesh .

it is said that ''In Krita Yuga, Lord Shiva performed pooja here and praised Narasimha as the Supreme Being reciting the Mantra Raja Mrutha Stotram. ... In Treta Yuga, in search of Sita, Rama visited this place and worshipped Ahobila Narasimha singing praise to the Lord reciting the Narasimha Pancha Mrutha Stotram, ....

In Dwapara Yuga, the Pandavas reached Ahobila kshetram and sought the blessings of Narasimha. ''
