Depending on where you find this, the sellers call her Lakshmi, Durga, or Kali. But this isn't a traditional depiction either way, so I just think it's a stunning representation of Shakti. So much energy!

That's all =) She's not really a darshan murti since she isn't looking outward, but she reminds me of the joy I find in Hinduism. Joy is very important.:D

Yes it's a very unique and interesting depiction :D

It's actually a very common statue. Not that one in particular, but ones incredibly similar to it. My uncle's house has many of them settled around corners; in the garden there are more than four of them. It is always a representation of a certain Shri Devi or an Apsara pouring water from a pot-jug to a thirsty traveller or someone.

The artistic creativity that goes in on making them is remarkable. My mother has two of them in the backyard and one in the guest room.

Do I believe in him? No. Do I respect him? Yes. But, the catch is: I respect Guru Gobind Singh more.

Do I believe in Buddha? No. Do I respect him? Yes.

I see, I believe in both and to be quite frank I think you should as well. They were both real and powerful people and the love that Hindus-Sikhs-Buddhist's have for each other it very tremendous.

No thank you. As per Shruti law, I cannot believe in those of different prayers and those that do not offer the appropriate fire to the appropriate gods. Such a thing would be ayajavanic and avrata.

I see, I guess I'm breaking Shruti law and will continue doing so then. Nice to know though. I guess the photos of Guru Nanak and Buddha in a few Hindu temple's I've visited are also breaking the law..
