Am i doing that? No, so don't post such BS. I am just saying, whaat about those who do it for publicity, within 2 years Britney Spears will become a Buddhist/

And it won't be up to me or you to judge her motivations.

Though I'd bet on Kabbalism a la Madonna.

thats sad whos killing them and why ??

Islamic fundamentalists are killing woman, children, school teachers and Buddhist monks in the streets in the South of Thailand they want to have the southern provinces for their own country. Thailand gave the territory of Malaysia to those people a long time ago to make their own country, they screwed it up and now they want more. Last year they set off bombs in Bangkok and they set some here in Chiang Mai but the police found them before the went off. I'm really sick of these people and I wish they would just martyr them selfs in one big explosion.

I think a big deal should be made whenever anyone is persecuted against regardless of the number. Persecution is persecution whether it be towards 1 or 1 million.

:D IF they wanna kill people, why dont they kill themsleves AND their martyr suicide freinds too.

During the early years of the Vietnam War the Buddhists of the country very effectively changed the attitude of the world's opinion about the treatment of Buddhists and the ethics of the war by martyring themselves dramatically. They sat down in public, doused themselves with gasoline and set themselves alight. There was no attempt to take anyone with them and there were no volunteers present.

I don't really see what there is to get so upset about. You have to think of it this way: Christian missionaries, in general, provide both physical and spiritual nuturing to the areas they are called to. In the Christian framework, they are doing as they have been commanded by God to do. I don't think it's right that you equate the conversion of the uneducated and poor as evil. In God's eyes, whether you are rich, poor, educated, or not, we are all the same. Maybe the difference is that the uneducated and poor aren't tainted by their drive for possessions to see the gospel for what it is: a message of hope and salvation for the meek and humble. If you are a Christian, you believe that God is truth and that truth can be recognized whether you are rich or poor. So, even if you don't agree with them "converting" these helpless to Christianity, at least appreciate that many of these missionaries are trying to provide physical help to those who need it most. I don't think God will look down on them for doing such a thing. And if you personally have issues with it, I would suggest you find a way to spread the good word of Hinduism to these people. "The fields are ripe and ready for harvest."

You're right, JR.

In fact Jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.

That is an amazingly profound metaphor when one knows that the "Eye of the Needle" was an actual gate in most walled cities of the time. The purpose was to make sure that camels could pass into the city only after they had been unloaded to make sure the tax agents could sift through the imported goods at their leisure.

It is not easy for a rich man to shrug off his possessions of this material world to seek his treasures in the spiritual world.

I think you are missing the point. A lot of Christians, (not including you) talk and act as if there is the USA and Christianity and...thats it. Christians (once again, some only) seem to think that all people in the world are christian and people use christiany as the religious yardstick. They love to make a fuss when someone kills a few, but when they maybe, kill others for being black, or just being from another part of the country, no-one gives a damn.

You are aware of the egregous generalisation being made here on behalf of america and christians coming from a british hindu?
