Not sure it qualifies as a prophecy, but I like the Primal Vow of Amitabha Buddha

Pretty good point. Were the buildings in Dubai made by unclothed shephards competing with each other? It is a strange idea, I have never seen such things done. Maybe we are not close to the last hour.
There is competition (or a "bid process") for the vast majority of construction projects as there was when Muhammad was living. Again, I ask, how is that impressive? No, he means competition over who makes the tallest buildings. Such competition exist today specialy amongst Arabs.
But you are atheist lol
This thread is not for atheists tho. It says Prophecy & religions. Wrong thread
You mean calculation? Of course the Egyptians and others used mathematics when designing the tall buildings. They were not stupid.

The hadith is about Arabs who walked barefoot and one day will compete with each other in constructing high buildings.
But u said Arabs were already doing that in the time of prophet pbuh.
This is not an impressive prophecy. People at the time of Muhammad were already competing for the largest structures. It seems pretty obvious that in the future people would be doing the same thing. Are there any prophecies from Muhammad that aren't so vague and obvious?Sorry for the mistake, i meant competition as stated in the hadith, not only tall buildings but a competition for who makes the tallest one, exactly that is what happening today.

So you think today's Arabs fulfill the prophecy?? Really? No, he means competition over who makes the tallest buildings. Such competition exist today specialy amongst Arabs.
Oh, you should have said it on the thread, or posted it on Abrahamic religions. It's posted now on debates and I thought everyone was welcome. This thread is not for atheists tho. It says Prophecy & religions. Wrong thread
I think the ancients were already competing who makes more impressive buildings to their god or themselves. The Pyramids is a good example.Sorry for the mistake, i meant competition as stated in the hadith, not only tall buildings but a competition for who makes the tallest one, exactly that is what happening today.
I thought it was literal. There was rapid rise from poor to rich many times in different parts of the world, almost always accompanied by making bigger more impressive buildings. We also have countries that are today poor and can no longer create what they made thousand years ago.Not hard to understand as it means they were very poor and such changes were rapid from poorness to richness.
But you are atheist lol

I find this very good:
Almost 150 years ago Baha'u'llah said:
"A strange and wonderful instrument exists in the earth; but it is concealed from the minds and souls. It is an instrument which has the power to change the atmosphere of the whole earth, and its infection causes destruction." (Lights of Guidance, #1585)
"Split the atom's heart, and Lo!
within it thou wilt find a sun."
This prophecy was reiterated by 'Abdu'l-Baha in an interview which he gave to the Japanese Ambassador in Spain, Viscount Arawaka, and his wife, during his sojourn in Paris-October, December, 1911, and recorded by Lady Blomfield. He said:
"Scientific discoveries have greatly increased material civilization. There is in existence a stupendous force, as yet, happily, undiscovered by man. Let us supplicate God, the Beloved, that this force be not discovered by science until Spiritual Civilization, i.e. the Kingdom, shall dominate the human mind. In the hands of men of lower material nature, this power would be able to destroy the whole earth."
The atheists would probably say that he was lucky to say that. Because destructable forces were getting better and better, which makes it probable, that a force which could destroy the whole earth would be discovered. Also they will probably say, that inside of the atom's core we don't find a sun ^^Do you think any atheist will disagree with you ?
I don't think so, but who knows......., just to prove me wrong.

But I think that atheists/everyone would just laugh at this prophecy 150 years ago. As far as I know, there was not a single sign of such a force in science.

I don't have a problem with Baha'ullah, but I don't share his unquestioning theism either. From my experience atheists have no problem with Baha'ullah, so they won't agree or disagree.
