I agree michel, its sad to think parents just dont care, where their kids go.... its a case of just get from under my feet.
Sadly my son had a few friends that would visit.... be with us all day, they stayed for lunch, dinner.... did their parents not worry?
Ah well life in todays world.

Michel, our neighbor, until someone called the cops on her, let her kids run around, unsupervised, at times with no clothes on. This is asking for trouble. And adds credence to your thought of parents not watching their kids.

I have seen it; kids chucked out of the house early morning, and allowed back in at 6pm (parents 'can't cope).......This is a regular occurence at an estate not that far from here, where it is typical behaviour.

Reminds me a bit of the African women who would go down to the river to wash clothes daily; they would let their kids go swim in the river. Occasionally, on would be taken by a crocodile. There would be much wailing for a week, and then, she would be back, letting her kids play in the river.............

But, at last, I have found something a bit more recent;

Most adults who sexually molest children are considered to have pedophilia, a mental disorder described in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV). An adult who engages in sexual activity with a child is performing a criminal and immoral act that never can be considered normal or socially acceptable behavior.

Pedophilia is categorized in the DSM-IV as one of several paraphiliac mental disorders. The essential features of a paraphilia (sexual deviation) are recurrent, intense, sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges or behaviors that generally involve nonhuman subjects, the suffering or humiliation of oneself or one's partner, or children or other nonconsenting persons.

The Characteristics of Pedophilia

According to the DSM-IV definition, pedophilia involves sexual activity by an adult with a prepubescent child. Some individuals prefer females, usually 8- to 10-year-olds. Those attracted to males usually prefers slightly older children. Some prefer both sexes. While some are sexually attracted only to children, others also are sometimes attracted to adults.

Pedophiliac activity may involve undressing and looking at the child or more direct physical sex acts. All these activities are psychologically harmful to the child, and some may be physically harmful. In addition, individuals with pedophilia often go to great lengths to obtain photos, films or pornographic publications that focus on sex with children.
These individuals commonly explain their activities with excuses or rationalizations that the activities have "educational value" for the child, that the child feels "sexual pleasure" from the activities or that the child was "sexually provocative." However, child psychiatrists and other child development experts maintain that children are incapable of offering informed consent to sex with an adult. Furthermore, since pedophiliac acts harm the child, psychiatrists condemn publications or organizations that seek to promote or normalize sex between adults and children.

However, bear in mind that a "sex offender" is not necessarily a child molester... a sex offender may be someone who was arrested for having sex in a car or urinating on the side of a building.
That's odd. All the offenders I pulled up, not one was for mutual agreed sex or urinating in public. Think you need to read what offences require registration. They're listed. ;

I tell you what Michel I had the scare of my life in my early twenties. I was staying at a friend's house in Dorset and there was a party. We were all chatting and a young girl was hanging about catching my attention occasionally, and I'd smile and carry on chatting. Then at one point she stood right infront of my left leg and pushed herself gently against it, rocking slightly. It SCARED the living daylights out of me, and the mother must have seen my look of horror as when I realised what was happening I looked straight at her, to see she was smiling. Tho' I had always thought that children were sexual in a dormant way I had not realised that they pursued it in a pleasure seeking way, well actually strike that I actually recall being babysat as a youngster and playing around my sitters legs (she was wearing tights) and enjoying the sensation. I think however there is an innocence in this sensation seeking, that is the seed that will grow into adult sexuality. Still it scared me half to death......

This innocent sensation seeking coupled with a predatory paedophile would be disasterous.

Did I state "All names on this list were child sex offenders" No I did not! and also nowhere does this list say "man caught peeing on a wall"

The list does give what the person was convicted of.... some do include immoral acts with minors, which could be just exposing themselves to a child
What ever they have done to have their name on this list... its nothing to be proud of.
What shocks me is some of the names have offended up to 5 times... why the hell are these people free to offend again and again.

Surely that is the point of having a list? If you didn't expect a person to reoffend upon releasing them from prison then you would have no reason to warn the community about it. On the other hand... why are they releasing people who they expect to reoffend?

Because they have to follow the LAW and the sentence of the judge. They can't keep a bank robber after his sentence is up merely because he might repeat.

That's obvious. But why are judges giving more time to someone like myself for back child support then to someone that has molested time after time again?
