I voted " Inspirational"

First, the guy draws very well. I feel like i'm in a museum with the old paintings.
They used to have the sens of details.

I don't know what Jesus is holding. His commands or the american constitution.
If it's the first one i kinda like the idea.
If it's the second option, no ^^

It's the US constitution.

Sometimes in place of music we find muzak.

I propose
dullart
flart,
tart,
or maybe just fart.
....................^ (as opposed to fine art)
What ever happened to originality and thought provoking in art? I feel that I need an overdose of Giger to balance the inanity of the picture in the OP.

I found it. With zoom and info.

McNaughton Fine Art

The art is at least decent, which can't be said for "modern art"s.

As a non-Christian, I have to say, I quite like it as a painting, even if I do find the theology alien to myself, and the idea of "One Nation Under God" is supposed to not be the Christian God anyway.

But still, pretty cool. It's one artists' expression of his beliefs. I'm okay with that.

Using the zoom feature I've seen better art work, however it is an interesting design. I wouldn't call it excellent just good.

I want to know how someone could create such a "patriotic" piece yet know so little about the nation's actual history. I also want to know how Christian conservatives reconcile their theocratic beliefs with the constitution that they pretend to value.

Thanks for your diligence and expertise in finding the link!

It seems to imply that God is backing the USA.
Allow me to be more elaborative. It seems to apply that a first century liberal thinker from Judea under the reign of the contemporary Roman colonial powers, supports the conservative policies of an American superpower 2000 years later.

It's nice, but I think this one is a lot more accurate:

I don't want to sound like an art snob, but even if I agreed with the ideology expressed in the painting, I think I would have difficulty describing the work as anything more than juvenile.

No it's not. I live in Salt Lake City and that piece of artwork is completely unfamiliar to me. It is not LDS.

No. I do believe I have seen that painting and similar stuff in SLC . Whoever the artist is, they are probably either from there or they're Mormon.

These sources seem to back your suspicions up.

Not that it means anything, though.

Oh my Elder Gods! that is awesome!

And, at least to me, a lot less offensive than the original painting.

You don't have to be an art snob to call it what it is. Good call.

It appeals to people who stand in awe of the works by "The Painter of Light,"

I think this painting is amazing in its detail.

When I read Odion's link - I was really impressed with the "story" behind each figure in the painting. I agree with the artist on some points and my initial intrepretation matched the artist's intent on some points.
