Just thinking of this: What if someone confronted you (in a nice way), you know this person very well, and told you that he/she has a crush on your daughter/son? What would be your initial reaction? What would you do afterward?

I am at work... multitasking... I'm making binders, reading RF topics and posts, and about to eat some poptarts. What an exciting life I live.

Boy meets girl. They like each other. Next step: go dating. No big deal. Its just a date and its just a crush and they are not doing anything wrong. Its just a natural part of life's process.

Then I would be happy if I become your son. hehe, but what if the case is otherwise? You have a daughter and so on...

That depends. If it was a 12-14 year old, then OK but if you told me it was a 40 year old man, I would get creeped out and tell the dude to stay away from my daughter. ;)

Don't your parents approve of their children going on dates?

Well, its the same thing. You did say that i know the other person "very well" - so i'm assuming that i like the other person. So its ok for them to date.

But why tell about the crush. Why not just ask permission to date? - its less dramatic that way.
