I came across a very interesting article where a boy recounts his experience when he said to have visited the heaven. See for yourself:

* 'She told me she was glad to have someone from her family up there'

A boy who almost died from a ruptured appendix has said he met the dead sister he did not know existed.

The extraordinary claims by Colton Burpo, aged four, came after he was misdiagnosed with flu while his family, from Imperial, Nebraska, were on a trip to Colorado. By the time they returned home he was seriously ill and had to undergo emergency surgery twice.

While he was in the operating theatre his parents, Todd and Sonya, prayed, believing they were going to lose their son.

However, Colton soon recovered and then told his astonished parents that he had met the sister his mother had miscarried a year before his own birth.

What made this even more remarkable was his parents had never spoken to him about her.

The youngster said: 'She looked familiar and she started giving me hugs and told me she was glad to have someone from her family up there.

'She doesn't have a name though, she said they never gave her one. But she can't wait for her mom and dad to come to Heaven to meet her.'

He also described to his astonished parents how he had seen them praying.

His 41-year-old father said: 'I'm looking at him in the mirror, and he says that the angels sang to me. I looked and he is just dead serious.'

The child also claimed that he saw his great-grandfather, Pop, who had died more than 30 years before.

However, he didn't recognise Pop from a picture taken shortly before his death but from one of him as a young man.

Colton said that his visions became more vivid as time passed.

He said: 'I remember Jesus, there's streets of gold and a lot of colours. I sat on Jesus' lap and then I just felt safe. God, he is the biggest one in Heaven, he can hold the world in his hands.'

He even claims he saw a glimpse of Armageddon.

When asked the age-old question about what Heaven is like, Colton had a very specific description: 'Well, it’s all the colours of the rainbow, a place of beautiful shades and hues.

'The gates were made of gold and there were pearls on them. It never gets dark. It’s always bright.

'Everyone has wings and can fly except for Jesus, who hovers up and down. Everyone wears a white robe crossed by a sash of different colours and they have lights above their heads.'

Colton even described meeting John the Baptist, though without understanding who he was, having not yet learned about him in Sunday school.

He recalled being introduced to Christ’s cousin and Jesus told him that his cousin had baptised him.

The Burpos have written a book about the experience and Colton, now aged 11, continues to share his stories of Heaven.

Mr Burpo is a garage-door salesman who volunteers as a school wrestling coach and local fireman.

He is also pastor of the Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Imperial and many wonder how much their religious home life may have influenced his son.

His schoolteacher wife Sonja, initially had their doubts about their son’s vivid post-operative recollections but her husband insists: 'I am convinced he was in Heaven.'

Colton is like any other 11-year-old, he likes music, wrestles and prays to the god he describes as being able to hold the world in his hands.

Publishing the book was not something Colton intended to do, but he said he again turned to God for an answer.

He prayed: 'God, if this is really you. I don't know how to publish a book. If you want me to do this you will have the publishing industry come to me.'

And they did. So far half a million books have been printed.

Book stores across the country are trying to get more copies. They are on e-book readers, audio tape and there is even talk of a movie.

Mr Burpo said: 'I don't know why He picked us. God did a remarkable miracle for us.'

Scam. It's easy to state something when there's no way to verify.

The Shadow
A question I have pondered some, ninerbuff. I think as one gets older the "be careful what you ask for" gets more real. If I get in, the most important question for me is "what if I want out?"

If we are getting punished in burning hell just for some human indiscretions, it shudders my mind to think what God has in store for anyone in Heaven wanting to cash in their chips.

And would this not be likely? Consider the real consequence of eternity. Time to read every book ever written more than a zillion times! Hear every story, every joke, the real account of creation more than a zillion times. Remember the angels who gave it all up for a little squeeze with a cute lady on good ole earth?

Yep, worth the ponder, I say...

A view that is very credible. What if you do want out, if for some reason you got in? Well satan got thrown out, so if those that do get accepted "act up" then their fate would be the same.
What I would ask at this point then is satan was a "chief" angel. But I thought in heaven, there were no ranks or classes?

Boring? Not at all! Imagine the greatest feeling of joy you can ever have on earth, then imagine it amplified a million times......

i think that will get boring...

how does one appreciate what they have without contrast?

Boring? Not at all! Imagine the greatest feeling of joy you can ever have on earth, then imagine it amplified a million times......imagine heaven. Not a single boring moment. God is so stupendously glorious that our mouths will hang open for at least the first few eons trying to absorb all that glory and majesty and splendor! We won’t feel like we HAVE to sing a hymn or something ridiculous like that, we will burst out in spontaneous praise at such a magnificent being.

There will be no mirrors in heaven. Looking at ourselves does not bring us lasting happiness never has. However looking and experiencing and being drawn into something or someone that is so much greater than us captivates our attention, rivets our hearts and grabs our interest. And this God will do, continuously, for ever and ever. Never a dull moment, always something new to learn that interests us, never a lack of beauty, never a lack of love, never a lack of absolute contentment.

The main attraction in heaven is God. Does that sound boring? If it does then I submit you haven’t thought about what kind of Glory he has.

Wow. You really want to spend a few eons marveling at God's splendor and telling him how great he is? Does he have that big of an ego?

using heaven and hell to illicit the desired response, is an insult to our humanity and a perversion of the essence of morality

I think you mean "elicit"...

Unfortunately people can do evil things. At least when God does something you can be sure there's a purpose.

Yeah and Jigsaw from the SAW series had a purpose for murdering people as well. So did Hitler, it didn't make the murders justifiable or right. Your also claiming God can't serve his own selfish purpose without murdering people at random which is quite sickening.

So now you've made it. You're with your god and family and friends. Since you're a soul you don't need to eat or drink, and there aren't any material things in heaven (since jesus didn't think it was necessary) and all the "bad" people are not around. Now what? Do you just praise god and kneel and say prayers all day for the rest of eternity? Get kinda boring wouldn't ya think?

My biggest issue is with the idea of hell existing while some people are enjoying Heaven. Lets say you go to heaven, but your Dad, Mother, Brother, Sister and all your friends are burning to a crisp in hell. Their are only a couple of ways for this situation to exist while remaining blissful in Heaven.

1: God gets you so high on himself that you simply do not care at all about your family and friends and you find it quite easy to not care about their suffering like some sort of demon.

2: God wipes your mind completely of all memories of your past life with your family, in which case you are being lied to by God in a sense. You are no longer yourself since you have been altered to such a degree that you no longer have any memories of who you once were.

Both ways are basically ways for God to kill us of our true selves in order for us to praise him without anything getting in our way. It appears to be very , very , very selfish and definitely not worthy of worship of any kind.

Once you make it to heaven, you get to sit in the pew behind Jerry Falwell and James Dobson, and listen to them singing praises to the lord for all eternity. That's what I heard.
