I agree absolutely, but it was YOU, and not ME, who made such a claim. Hence the hilarity of this goalpost shifting now.It is the fallacy of black and white thinking to say that the Bible must either be true or false.

That's not middle ground, that is subjective cherry picking which bits of the bible you like or support your beliefs.I believe that some of it is true and some of it is false. There is a middle ground.
But we all know lots of people were forced to believe or die in some religions. So, in theory, there's no compulsion. The Quran tells us that there in no compulsion in religion.
one who starts from a neutral position, unbiased, and fair, and investigate the signs, will see its truth eventually.
That would be assuming we can fully understand the purpose of creation?
If God has a purpose, there is a wisdom of how that purpose is to be achieved.
Thus faith tells us, we allow God's Will to become our life.
But with some of them the literal or obvious interpretation is said to be wrong by Baha'is. A very special deeply symbolic interpretation is the one that Baha'is say is correct.@KWED
Yes, exactly as Tony said. Because if these prophecies were in such a way that no one could possibly reject, then it means God would force people to accept them. So, He only gives signs, so only if someone is truly investigating the truth, and is willing then accept them.
Prophecies of Kalki and Maitreya give specifics. Yet, Baha'is disregard the specifics. There prophecies that say the Christ will return to Zion, the Mt. of Olives and Jerusalem. But Baha'u'llah didn't go there, so those prophecies are "spiritualized" and made symbolic. No matter what, Baha'is are always right. If you search you would be able to find them I think.
But, this is why I presented the hypothetical case.
What I intended to show in that hypothetical example is, when a great number of prophecies, such as year of Birth, places, names, time of death, and many more are fulfilled, could it still be coincidence?
The problem is most people do not look into these completely, and thus, they think this one prophecy is possibly coincidence, or it may not mean that. As you also said.
But if there are too many prophecies like this is fulfilled, even if they are signs, then saying that these are not true prophecies, what could possibly convince these people who do not want to accept something they don't want? I am not saying you are one of them. But I am saying, why should I spend hours and hours to present 100 or 200 prophecies fulfilled, when someone is already made up his mind to reject them?
And whose fault is that? You'll forgive me, but it isn't going very well.
That is a straw man.I agree absolutely, but it was YOU, and not ME, who made such a claim. Hence the hilarity of this goalpost shifting now.
And what are the chances that those are all real prophecies? I know some of them are extremely questionable. Like the Messiah being from the tribe of Judah. I know Baha'is do it. But really? Who kept the genealogical records of all of Baha'u'llah's ancestors? Another one about "he" will come to you from Assyria? Only one translation had "he". Most had "They". Here's the NIV...There are many books that have compiled all these prophecies, one I know of even gives the Mathematical calculations of the chance of one person fulfilling all those prophecies at a sum of 10 to the power of 56 (From Memory)

That's kind of sad. So racial equality protests or anti-war protests can't officially be supported? But what about individual Baha'is? Is that allowed? We do not get involved in Civil Disobedience.
There are a large amount of Baha'i in Ukraine and they will be doing and helping in any way they can.
As would any loyal citizens that pursue justice.

For sure there is a truth. Only if one is unbiased and sincere can realize it. Whatever that truth might be.That's a no true Scotsman fallacy if ever there was one.
But while you may be sincere, you are not unbiased. But even so, being sincere and unbiased is not a method for distinguishing fact from imagination. There are plenty of sincere and unbiased humans throughout human history who do or would have disagreed with you.For sure there is a truth. Only if one is unbiased and sincere can realize it. I don't know about that. But while you may be sincere, you are not unbiased. But even so, being sincere and unbiased is not a method for distinguishing fact from imagination. There are plenty of sincere and unbiased humans throughout human history who do or would have disagreed with you.
Yes. How do you demonstrate to someone who has no investment in whether you are right or wrong, that any given one of your beliefs, religious or secular, is not merely a product of your imagination?Imaginations are wishful thinking in the context of our discussion.
