uu_sage- you seem to know a lot about this, so I have a question for you, how do you think one would go about figuring out WHICH congregations are in which category you described, how did you find this out? The only way I can figure is, contact the pastor of each... rather laborious.

I am trying to learn more about unitarian Uism. I have read a bit about it, and I cannot help but figure that most of the people sitting in the pews are liberals, vegetarians, yuppies, buddhists... (this is not that big of a problem to me - no offense - buddhism is fascinating I've read a few...
wikipedia is not thorough enough for what I am looking for, I've found a book at the library that is 500 pages on this, but I am not sure if it is that accurate and the terminology is really old style (academic, 1940's), so does anyone know of a good guide?

a question - if a liberated soul has infinite knowledge/infinite energy, how does Jainism get around the subject / object division - i.e. What does one have knowledge OF, if there are no objects ?

I have one more question, tho - the soul is supposed to be omnipotent and omniscient... when liberated- surely it can observe things in this material realm or act here if it felt like it (surely not in reality, I know, I'm incorrect I just don't see how)
