OK, thanks.
That's the difference. I don't see the Universe as having consciousness although, obviously, consciousness exists inmany individual organisms.
How does this consciousness or sentience manifest itself?
Agreed. Why the need for mass murder and ecocide (the only word to describe it, really)? I've asked a number of Christians about this and have yet to receive a satisfactory answer.
One answer is that the whole of creation had become "infected by sin" and had to be destroyed. How does this work...
I can fully appreciate the notion of the Universe / Nature as being worthy of reverence and respect (I travel that particular road myself) but, on a practical level, what essentially is the difference between believing that all is god and an atheistic position of nothing is god?
I regard...

Now he goes to school and he can only read words."

Too many schools are concerned with attainment of grades and how the grades of their school compares with those of others (we call them League Tables here in the UK). This idea of success based purely on grades needs to be removed for the sake of both pupils and teachers.
The definition of the...
Interesting to note that these god-like qualities are exactly what we humans possess too. Wow.
Who'da thunk it?
(and what species defines the gods as possessing these qualities, I wonder.....)
That's where we differ, I suppose. My lack of belief in gods has no bearing on my social concerns. To me, they don't overlap nor do they influence each other.
The only instance I can think of where my atheism has a bearing is my refusal to donate to any charity with religious affiliations. I...
The issues listed have nothing to do with atheism. It's up to the individual to accept or reject the causes / campaigns, but they have no influence on whether that person believes in gods or not.
Not sure why an atheist who fights for these causes should be regarded as an "atheist plus".
I...
So other people's religions are mythology, but yours is the truth? Gotcha.
Keeping this within the topic of the OP, how would a supernatural approach to addressing issues be suitable for a science class?
You go on to say:
Yet, the notion that your god is the designer is implicit. ID is a...
Actually, there is no evidence beyond creationists claiming "it looks designed" or "evolution can't explain it". Have you read Behe's books? It's basically that argument repeated over and over. Is this what you are advocating for a science class?
A commitment to materialism is vital in explaining natural phenomena. What do you think our level of understanding would be if we tried to explain germ theory with reference to Odin? Cosmology with reference to the Aboriginal Dreamtime? Gravity with reference to Freya? Are you in favour of this...
