"Reagan principles"? (2.42)
Good god. I remember all too well the cosy relationship between Reagan and Thatcher back in the day. We don't need a revival of those particular principles.
Oh yeah - and any video that relies on wind-swept sandy beaches to get a message across? Forget it.
Every painting that elephant did was new. Who is to say it's not a masterpiece (what criterion defines it as such, anyway)?
The point is that we are too keen to view the abilities of non-human animals in a patronising "well it's all very nice, but we could do so much better" kind of way.
Who are...
Ah. Because this is in the Evolution vs Creationism topic, I (and some others, I think) assumed you were talking about biological evolution, not evolution of consciousness.
It's the same on the other 'creationism in school' thread. Plenty of "critical analysis" regarding evolution, but absolutely nothing on creationist content.
Deep down, I think they realise they have nothing to say in favour of their idea.
Unfortunately, some will opt for B.
What they fail to realise is that the teaching of evolution says nothing about a god - that is beyond the remit of ToE - leaving that particular belief (or lack of) up to the individual. Like any aspect of science, ToE an explanatory tool - nothing more...
OK, so you are not seeking changes to the curriculum. That's fine. I'm interested, though, in the evidence for creationism you mentioned above that would be appropriate for a science class should it ever be allowed into the domain of education. I had asked for this before, but perhaps you missed...
Exactly. What is it that these people want? Do they want creationism being taught alongside established scientific theories or not?
So, rusra, you don't actually want creationism being taught in schools - is that correct? Again, I'll repeat the question that several of us here have put to you...
Again, rusra, you are focusing on evolution. Why do you insist on deflecting the question? Could it be because creationism, without the buttressing plank of "evolution can't explain....", doesn't actually have any substance of its own that would merit a science lesson?
If this is the case...
