    Tattoos are encouraged in heathenry in my experience. I know of one kindred that has all of it's members have the same raven tattoo.

    I think it's cultural. Many cultures sacrificed animals, regardless of religion. In my faith we sacrifice animals still. It's part of our cultural heritage as well as religion.

    Exodus 22:18 is a mistranslation, sort of. When they translated the bible to KJV, they used the greek which had "pharmakos" as the word, it means "one who uses herbs, potions, drugs, etc"(it's also where we get words like pharmacist and pharmacology). The english had only one word for this type...

    why doesn't anyone wonder if Norse myths are true? What if you die and you're in Helheim? It's all "christian god, what if it's all real, will I go to hell, blah blah blah". I just think it's funny that people are worried if the christian myths are real and no other.

    I guess I'll answer even though this thread is pretty old. I don't mind universalists as long as they don't get too wishy-washy. As long as they keep it in the realm of heathenry and not wicca-tru I'm ok with it.
