What, in your opinion, TS, are the foundations of Christianity?

    Homosexuality and religious.

Yes, I too would like to know the Bahai view on this. But perhaps some would and some would not?

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Nothing and nobody could ever supersede the Second Person of the Trinity.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

You're absolutely correct. If Jesus is not God, then what Christians are feeling is all in our minds and is make-believe.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

I can only speak for myself, but my prayers have never included the third sentence in the following, "Oh God, I'm so sorry. I sinned against you. I'll never do that again”. I really cannot imagine my Christian friends saying otherwise.

    Homosexuality and religious.

But surely if you believe that 'all the other religions are wrong in some/many ways' you cannot logically assert that your religion is somehow excluded from this.

I am glad you found optimism in the Trinity diagram, Tb.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Oh yes, I am very aware of this. But I'm not trying to 'convince' anyone. It would not have convinced me when I was an unbeliever.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

I’m not sure if this is true, CG. I don’t think that feeling guilty and repenting means they would never sin again; repentance is a lifelong process. When Peter asked Jesus whether we are obligated to forgive a person who sins against us seven times (Peter’s “seven times” more than doubled the...

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Hockeycowboy believes that Jesus is God either.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” Hebrews 12:28-29 This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating...

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

 Well, I don’t believe that the concept of evidence and belief is as simple as you may think it is. Is it possible, in your opinion, that the available body of facts or information will be seen differently by the different types of people mentioned below? The concept of evidence is...

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

From here:-- ME: I don't find it hard to have empathy with those in this world in dire need, with the child who has lost her mother and father in Ukraine, with the victims of terrible abuse (often from their own family members). I do find it hard to have empathy with those who complain about...

My response to MrB’s bolded words followeth. :D Jesus is not a manifestation. He is the Second Person of the Trinity.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

As usual, you did not read carefully. Look again at the very first word in my post. I asked you to imagine certain scenarios. Here is what I said - again. Imagine for one minute that you are the person with a warm place in which to live, money to buy food and cars, and friends to talk to. Are...

Evidence. You use this word a lot, F1fan. I would be interested to know what you mean when you use it in the context of this discussion…?

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Hmmm... I have to smile when I read this kind of thing from atheists. I want to suggest that they insert the words "I believe" between 'that' and 'lack'.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Imagine for one minute that you are the person with a warm place in which to live, money to buy food and cars, and friends to talk to. Are you suffering more than those in this world in dire need, more than the child who has lost her mother and father in Ukraine, more than the victims of...

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

. Muhammad, the Bab, Baha'u'llah, Krishna and Zoroaster, Buddha, Abraham and Moses could never have paid the price of sin for all of humanity. Why? Because they were human beings.

Legitimate reasons not to believe in God

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff...
