Well, it looks like you needn't have started this thread. You weren't looking for refutations or debate, but a platform to declare your views.
FWIW, you accomplished that. While no one has been persuaded to agree with you, you did air your viewpoint.
Debates involve sourcing and reasoning. Your OP doesn't qualify as a debate, but rather a series of unsupported views. You can surely have views. Just be aware that no one is persuaded by anything lacking sources. In fact, to put it gently, it does the opposite - you seem to be persuading people...
The people I most wish to help are those who are unable to be reached. They lack the infrastructures to even receive help, and they're in the most dire, impoverished situations. Basically, if you dig a well or support a cause, you're still not reaching those kinds of people. From what I've read...
I knew it! An evil gluten proselytizer! You're so sneaky about it too, always talking about trampolines and squishy hugs when those were just gateways to gluten. Intensely aromatic loaves fresh from the oven....that's pure evil genius.
In any case, it doesn't matter to me what the school board decided to do. At this point the news coverage is more of a distraction than a decision based on the original issue. The fact that this is an issue at all (and one propagated by the kid's dad and pastor and not the kid himself) is really...
It's silly that this kind of thing makes the news. Every year there's something about how some kid was suspended or prohibited from wearing a shirt with something provocative on it. If it distracts from the purpose of school, then schools have the right to not allow it. Sometimes things are...
Agreed. My sentiments are the same here as in the recent thread where a student was forbidden from wearing a shirt stating a stance on homosexuality (I forgot what it said exactly). This isn't about rights or freedom of speech. School is a place to learn, and disruptions should be minimized...
I just had my 7-year-old daughter's ears pierced two weeks ago, so this is fresh in my mind.
You should be absolutely fine. As long as you do the daily disinfection routine (three times a day is what we were told) for six weeks, you can be anywhere - as long as you're not dunking your head...
