Do atheists put flowers on graves?

To make yourself and others who visit the grave/attend the funeral feel better.

Do atheists put flowers on graves?

Well let's see. If you are not dead you are what...?

    El Mexico.....the Fifty First State

In truth I have a very good understanding of the problem. I was speaking sarcastically, something I do frequently. Sometimes online it gets missed and for that I am sorry. Personally I think the Mexico problem is our problem. I couldn't care less about the border. In an ideal world we...

Do atheists put flowers on graves?

I've spent a fair amount of time at funerals, hopefully more than most people my age (44). It's my experience that these things are not for the dead, but for the living. It's about closure and dealing with our losses. Sure, some religious types put stock in praying for the dead, but even...

    El Mexico.....the Fifty First State

I've said this for years. They want to be American anyway. Then we'd only have a little border on the south... We could take out the cartels and solve illegal immigration in one fell swoop!

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

So why on earth wouldn't you just become a voting member?

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

This is why anyone with any sense simply joins the union, so they get a vote. Making the point moot.

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

It's a few bucks from each individual. And all kinds of things are done with the money from my paycheck that I don't approve of. Wars, Donald Trumps air fare, you name it... Unions donate to those who support unions. Which makes perfect sense. They used to be the counter to the big...

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

Not really. Oh sure, some tiny percentage may be better off without the union. But those people are not forced to work in a union shop.

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

That is what it boils down to or should. This ruling pits short term greed against the long term stability of the unions. And in that scenario Republicans are betting greed will win out. They are probably right.

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

Sure, the right to be represented by a meaningful and powerful entity versus the right to save a few bucks out of a smaller paycheck.

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

I laid it out pretty clearly. History tells us what happens without unions. There is a balancing act that needs to be maintained between management and unions. Sometimes power shifts too far one way or the other. The answer is not to destroy them and leave employees, who are already...

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

You do understand the history of unions right? Of course they don't always get it right. But historically people have been vastly better off with unions than without. If you think otherwise you need to read some history books. A shop votes on whether to be union or not. Traditionally...

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

Yeah, that's all nonsense. Very few individuals do better negotiating than the union does. We aren't talking about Harvard graduates. People don't care about the union negotiations. They care about the money coming out of the paycheck every week. And the only way union members would get...

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

Let's see. The union negotiates wages for all the workers. Those in the union pay dues. Those outside the union don't. Why the hell would anyone join the union? And it will work that way for a while, but membership will continue to fall off as more and more new workers, who don't know...

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

As a project manager in a non union shop, I think the workers are exactly the same. Sure they can because historically, before unions, they came out really well in those negotiations. Usually they were given the added benefit of having indefinite unpaid vacation.

SCOTUS Rules Non-Union Workers Can't Be Forced To Pay Union Dues

Personally I think anyone not in the union should then not get any of the pay raises or benefits the union negotiates, or has negotiated for, on employees behalf. See how many opt out then...

Migrant children say they've been forcibly drugged, handcuffed, and abused

They could. And Asylum would be denied. So your point is mute. It's like saying a drug addict could go to CVS to get his heroin.

    Attention, Trump Supporters

Because we can understand the medias motives. It is transparent. Even Fox News, who I detest, is easily understood. The FBI is much the same way. They may not always do the right thing, but their goals are easily understood and deciphered. The difference with Trump is that his goals...
