Invocation is calling within (sort of like possession), evocation is calling without (think the typical demon in a pentagram summoning).
Magic works by gathering things that resonate with the result then willing the result to occur. For a god or goddess you would gather incense, colors...
"Playing God" perhaps, though that was rendered irrelevant since the dawn of agriculture.
"Non-traditional families" perhaps, though with the rising number of single parents and in vitro pregnancies, it has also been made irrelevant.

Belial likely has nothing to do with Baal, or at least initially. Originally the term was used in Hebrew texts with no deity being referenced. Later the term was deified/demonized, similar to Mastema and Satan.
Belial has been translated many ways, though worthless is the most accurate one. But, when it comes to religion, why should accuracy matter? :sarcastic
