G'day
So @The Neo Nerd and I were watching Cenk Uygur vs Dinesh D'Souza on Youtube. They had a discussion starting just after this marker: https://youtu.be/v4sULDNpvqs?t=47m25s where Dinesh talks about Muslim extremists in 3rd world countries using the projection of American culture as an...
I'm not looking for a debate. I'm sincerely wanting to hear from Christians how they rationalise worship of God given the reports of his actions in the Old Testament. I'm hoping someone can clear it up for me in a way that I can then accept, as I'm open to learning about Christianity and...
Hello
I know this questions has been asked a million times before. If you have links to previous good threads on the topic, please share them. This is a genuine question.
When you read the OT, and you read about God instructing the Israelites to massacre men, married women and children, and...

Thanks for the reply.
I think your de-emphasis may be on track. I've seen the emphasis for Frige more on spinning than weaving. That seems to fit together nicely.
There may be a connection. This from Wikipedia:
The weekday name Wednesday derives from Old English. Cognate terms are found in other Germanic languages, such as Old High German wōdnesdæg, Middle Low Germanwōdensdach (Dutch Woensdag), and Old NorseÓðinsdagr (Danish, Norwegian and Swedish...
Can you remember which prayers you read? Was it Japji Sahib?
Really, you can interpret anything the way you want to.
In Sikhi, everyone dies. The devoted Sikh 'dies while alive'. The devoted Sikh, by dying while alive (eliminating ego-self), avoids the pain of physical death. It is not a...
