What do these quotes mean to you?

This x100000. You nailed it. The more we know, the more aware we become of what we don't know, and it's LOTS.

Woman Beheaded In Broad Daylight in ‘Moderate’ Muslim Nation

Oh okay, thanks. I didn't want to watch the video; I didn't click on it.

Woman Beheaded In Broad Daylight in ‘Moderate’ Muslim Nation

I don't want to guess, speculate, or assume. I want to know.

Confused about which religion would fit my beliefs

I think Wicca sounds like the path for you. It will give you something to practice and is open enough to allow you to continue exploring and learning.

    Seeker-friendly Quotes

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will...

RF Member Poll - Fate of the Seekers DIR

I like that seekers can talk about the seeking experience, as well as get input from a range of people. A seeker may identify with any religion at a particular point in time and I wouldn't want anyone to be excluded who was a "seeker" and found a path but is still learning. Move it to...

    How do I get started?

In my own seeking for religion (and I use that term here deliberately), I've found that it's easier to go with something more familiar to your own culture than a foreign one. Easier to learn, more relatable, and little language barrier. What may have been the religion of your ancestors?

    How do I get started?

Hi Keera.. You can easily start with wikipedia and branch out from there - it will give you somewhere to start from. You could also ask about each religion in those religions DIRs. And just to clarify, Wicca is a "sect" of Paganism, but "sect" is probably not the right term. So there you go...

    Are Scientists Lying about Evolution?

 I didn't write an argument, I asked a question - hence the question mark at the end. I'm not going to step out the reasoning that lead to the conclusion that you're being rude, I'll leave that for you to reflect upon.

    "Modernisation, yes; Westernisation, no."

Where have I defended them? Why won't you answer my question re Islam?

    "Modernisation, yes; Westernisation, no."

Why do you want me to accept all that blame? Is it my fault? And what does accepting the blame look like? An apology? Also, you still haven't answered my question. Which is quite relevant now, because it looks like you're asking me personally to accept the blame for Sikhs taking up arms to...

    "Modernisation, yes; Westernisation, no."

In what way have I been silent? What do you want me to say to you? Also, you didn't answer my question.

    "Modernisation, yes; Westernisation, no."

So, we can summarise that the aspects of Western culture that non-Western cultures do not like and find threatening are: Individualism (a social theory favouring freedom of action for individuals over collective or state control.) Divorce Collapse of the family unity (@MD, can you clarify what...

    "Modernisation, yes; Westernisation, no."

Are you saying that Islam is Western, or that you would classify it as a "Western culture"? Sikhs took up weapons to protect India against invading Moghuls/Turks. So I'm not sure your rage is well place in at least this regard.
