I didn't say anything about Orthodox art copying anything.
I did mention symbolism within anchient Egyption art.
Glad you like it. Islamic art doesn't get enough reccognition.

The ancient Egyptians managed an incredible amount of symbolism in their artwork. From the sizes of the figures to the specific poses and colors chosen... often all wrapped in scripture. It's pretty amazing.
I also find Islamic script to be staggeringly beautiful. The choice to focus on the...
No worries. Not only am I used it is by now... but I know not to stain everyone with the same brush.
The individual is not always representative of the whole.
I seek to understand individuals over groups whenever possible.

Shows what you know about her religion. Or any indigenous faith really.
Unless spiritual purity, self sacrifice and thankfulness are somehow carnal now?

You strongly implied it when you went on your little side track about "Incas, Myans, Aztecs, and Pagans in general"
I somehow doubt that was unintentional.

Christians did some vile things too... but I don't take a dump on your house of worship because some of you slaughtered millions (and in some places are still killing) for the sake of purity or spiritual conquest.

The primary purpose is not to keep the eggs warm, but to protect them from predators.

I can't remember, but I think it was around middle school.
Yes... I studied biology in university.
I had dedicated classes in evolution, genetics, ecology, physiology and morphology. Although evolution was obviously part of every biology course due to it's central role in the discipline.

I don't think we can ever know, nor would we recognize the first religious experimentation of our deep ancestors.
It's all well and good to label us animists as "primitive" and somehow our religion evolved into the more "advanced" religions of "civilized cultures".... but it's a crock of dung...
My opinion is that it's because death is below us. We bury our dead in the ground under our feet and the ground is cold and hard... but we watch birds fly free in the air and we feel the wind as "breath" and the sun gives us warmth and light... so it makes sense that "up" would be something...
