Does alcohol really make you forget

That's the dopamine. Alcohol gives you a dopamine hit for the first few drinks, but from there its depressant effect begins, and it all starts going downhill. There are other things that also give you a dopamine hit - sex and exercise are two. They're also much cheaper ;) Alcohol also...

Death penalty: Are you for or against it?

You would so quickly give up on a person?

I support government control of religion

Yes. You do. But lots of countries have unjust laws, no? What right does a government have to regulate religions? Just because it's done, doesn't mean it's ok.

Death penalty: Are you for or against it?

Then why not rehabilitate said psychopath instead of killing him? Help him to understand harming others is not in his best interests, and so he won't do it again... ;)

Death penalty: Are you for or against it?

I'm not using it in a legal sense. I'm using it in the sense that it is killing a person

Death penalty: Are you for or against it?

I wouldn't call murder upon murder justice. All it gets you is more murder. Doesn't solve anything.

Death penalty: Are you for or against it?

Nope. No, no, and nope. Not ever. Never. No one has the right to take another's life. Just because someone takes that right, doesn't give me or you the right

I support government control of religion

Though, quint, I believe eradicating bullying IS possible, but only with massive cultural change and probably not within our lifetimes. And though we can begin changes now, I agree, this proposition is not amongst the best I've heard...

An email I sent to an evolution prof at my alma mater

Bollocks. Just because you have an ego doesn't mean you really are any better

I support government control of religion

Not here... I mean, we have a minor party here that's full of those crazy Christians wanting to make their beliefs into laws, but they don't even have a seat in parliament. I wouldn't have the foggiest idea of the religious background of any of the other party members. Us kiwis don't really care...

    Oregon campus shooting

Seems to me the biggest problem is a culture that believes violence solves things.

I support government control of religion

What does a government have to do with religion? What right would a government have to involve themselves with people's beliefs? Can a government involve itself with how a religion should be interpreted?

I just bought my first phone.

It is a bit.. Phones these days are great. You can do almost anything with them! But I much prefer to converse face to face than via txt, or even calling. Txt is so... Impersonal, and.. Distant. So little is actually conveyed in txt - you miss out on body language, voice tone, stresses on...
