    A Candid Discussion on Homosexuality

Since when do you know what I feel? My mother doesn't know how I feel, and she's known me for 28 years. How do you imagine you know how I feel better than my mother does? But since you think you do know, maybe you can help me out. I met someone not too long ago, and we get along really really...

    A Candid Discussion on Homosexuality

I've had all kinds of sex, and let me tell you - it didn't matter who I was with, but there was a lot of lust involved with all of them, male and female. Do you truly think that heterosexual people are so disadvantaged that they can't experienced lust to the same degree? They'd be missing out on...

    another botched execution.

It is the impression I got though :) What I dislike is the idea that execution is a good idea. That's my hang up. To me it's simply an unacceptable way of dealing with a societal issue. I just don't see any reasonable instance where killing another person regardless of what they have or haven't...

    another botched execution.

which is why I said "it seemed to me" at the start. My point rely was that there would be a very blurry line indeed in trying to figure who does and doesn't get executed.

    another botched execution.

We abolished capital punishment decades ago. The last person to be executed was in 1957. It seemed to me that there are a few people here who would execute all murderers, so that's why I asked. This woman is very unlikely to murder again. Those who have been in. emotionally abusive and...

Euthanasia is a separate issue entirely unrelated to the death sentence

    another botched execution.

So the exception to the human lives one should have regard for are those you'd kill? Separate issue. Quality of prisons could do with much improvement in many areas to improve the safety and well being of the people in prison. Because they are just as human as you and I. The govt doesn't...

    another botched execution.

There was a woman, here in NZ, who some time ago killed her husband who was controlling and verbally abusive. After 20 or so years of marriage she'd had enough, and this was the last resort for her to make it stop. She's now halfway through a 20 year prison sentence, and will probably be out in...

What is it you are hoping to achieve with the death penalty? And how does the death penalty help to attain that goal?

    another botched execution.

What if we left it up to the individual to choose between life imprisonment and death? Still not ideal to my mind, but it is a compromise.

    another botched execution.

I'm sure. Though, you say that now while it's still a thought exercise, and you're sitting comfortably at your computer. I do wonder if your response would be the same at the time Would be funny then, if a week, month, year after, the key piece of evidence proving your innocence came to light

    another botched execution.

I wonder how those who support death would feel if they were standing in front of the firing squad, wrongly accused and judged... I'm sure some alien species in space watching us is laughing at the insanity of killing to stop killing. Hahaha what a joke! Someone needs to make a bumper sticker...

    another botched execution.

I won't say it hasn't worked in the past (let's revive that Nazi example once again, yes? :p) But to me, it's the complete wrong type of thinking. there are always other options that must be exercised. Not till the last man lays down his weapons will you have peace, and it's hard to convince...

Which leaves us at no better a spot than before. But surely you're not in favour of the idea that killing one another is ok

    another botched execution.

I believe in neither your God, nor your devil. So that leaves us at a bit of an impasse. If no one has the right to exist, then surely it's not a right that can be taken, and you can easily justify killing someone, if they don't have a right to exist in the first place
