I don't think it's an islamic objective to force a rule on people...islam is a religion with general rulings for life....how can the people be ruled by it without accepting it as a religion in the first place ? that would be a tyranny practiced in the name of the religion ? and if it was...- maro

I don't know about the Mughals..and even if it's true...why should their actions be attributed to Islam...Islam did..islam wants...Islam bla bla , Is it hard to attribute the action simply to the person who did it ? I don't deny the islamic conquests...and i have just said they were meant to...- maro

Where do you see the contradiction ? I don't think the islamic conquests' purpose was to dominate...but to preach the religion when there was no other communication channels possible....and yes , without them ,i wouldn't have been a muslim ,myself- maro

Islam doesn't want to dominate...people want to dominate....islam doesn't reach its goals by the sword because the ' hearts' of people is the only goal of islam We preach and practice dawah but we don't have missionaries in the christian sense of the word- maro

I think the more westernes learn about islam ,the more common ground they will be able to see..and the less fearful they will become of it The truth is that i expected you to be one of those who are able to see the common ground more than anyone else considering that your knowledge about islam...- maro

What is Sufism?
I find the spiritual pursit and continous " Tazkeya " practiced by the sufis something that should be expected from every muslim..and i am disturbed when people think it's only restricted on sufis However , many sufis go with their spiritual pursuit to the extreme ignoring the essence of islam... -

Why are there many Fundamentalist Muslims...
I strongly dislike the term too ,not4me...because of the connotation that the *fundamentals* of the religion are necesicarily extreme and backward and have to be abandoned for us to be *moderates* I dislike most of the terminology used by the media to classify islam...i can't tell if they are... -

I find this to be an unfair generalization..something that i occasionally slip into while talking -

I don't think they understood or differentiated between anything ,sajdah The danish cartoons were re published soon after the protests ,the boycotting..and so...and we never got an official apology from the Denemark ,as far as i know on the contrary , what happened is that they adhered more to... -
