Yes and No. It depends on what you mean by Baptist.
If Baptist means that I affirm the separation of church and state, soul liberty, freedom in Biblical interpretation, the autonomy of the local church and the priesthood of all believers then yes I am a Baptist.
If Baptist means working for...
I love God's Jewish children and I love Jewish tradition but I strongly disagree with Zionism. Israel maybe a Israeli state but it is not a Jewish state. Jewish tradition makes it very clear that they are to welcome foreigners into their midst including God's Palestinian children. They have...
Preach it, brother! We as the body of Christ should be focusing on Christ's teachings rather than the doctrines made up about him by men of the church. The reason they don't embody the religion of Jesus is because Jesus demands that people give up their complacency, their preconceived notions of...

I believe that church attendance is not necessary to be a good Christian. There are several people who go to church but don't exactly respond in a Christ-like manner or act out of God's extravagant love and grace. Yet there are those outside the church, who faithfully live out a Christ-like...
As a liberal Christian who is practically Jewish, the orthodox expressions of Christian faith were products of the Roman Empire. The empire wanted to consolidate its power and have it unified by a certain faith tradition. So it co-opted the religion of Jesus (a Reform Judaism) and by the...
Nobody chooses their sexual orientation. All God's children whether gay, lesbian, bi, transgendered and straight are created in God's image and God doesn't create garbage.
This is my second semester in a Masters of Education program so I'm taking

The Sacrament is for all. All means all. No one is excluded from God's table. Accommodations need to be made for those who need it- including those who are alcoholics (providing grape juice), and there needs to be sensitivity to God's disabled children. What I meant to say is that in the case of...
My fiance and I will be starting pre-marital counseling on February 8th at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Claremont, CA to prepare for our October 2nd wedding.
All means all including the mentally ill. As for infants they would be allowed to receive the sacrament as long as they understand what communion is. Yes I would serve communion to animals and would have a blessing of the animals to go along with it.
These are extra hymns and spirituals that I love:
Ave Verum Corpus
Ubi Caritas
We are Marching in the Light of God (Siyahamba)

Gloria in excelsis Deo
The Shepherd's Farewell
Christmas Lullaby

As a Christian Universalist, I believe that all living beings are God's children created in the divine image and we are called to be stewards of the Lord's good creation. Since all souls, Christian or not, are headed for salvation, and since all are held in God's extravagant love and grace, all...
I agree with Jonathan. Church buildings should reflect the parishes that occupy them. The congregation I was a part of was founded during the fellowship movement and it looked like a car dealership. I wished they were in something more traditional or traditional with modern influences.
