I don't know why Islamic scholars make these kind of statements as though Islam is set in stone, because they base most of it on the hadith and their legal opinion. Islam certainly could be reformed by stressing the Quran first and the right of Muslims to use their reason.
Simple- I don't attribute things in nature to my gods. I believe my gods are the embodiments of nature in another realm. Pleroma, that goes without saying that many polytheists both ancient and now didn't think of the gods that way. Ancient pagans were some of the first to have science.
Most views of the future world/paradise earth that I've ever heard from Christians seems to suggest that there won't be any non-Christians after Jesus returns and fixes everything. Are there any Christians that believe other than this?

Well they have two things in common, at least in their basic theology: that they have replaced Jews as Yahweh's people, and that the whole world will one day be Christian/Islamic. Those are the similarities that worry me.
I'm a hard polytheist, both in thinking the gods are actual distinct beings, and in believing in the pantheons of other nations- that they are actual distinct beings.
