Silence is golden, when understood, questions do matter.
The answering of the question quiets the monkey. Why not just quiet the monkey by forgetting the question?
Mate you're asking questions no-one can answer. Zenzero has enough sense and humility to tell you the truth, noone knows, noone can know and noone will know the answer to these questions. The answer is not in the knowing.
Wish it was so as TRUTH simply IS,All truth is a question and answer event.
Yes, only in deep silence that one hears the *one hand clap* or the *soundless sound*.Then the property of silence is yours...not mine.
Friend Thief,
Wish it was so as TRUTH simply IS,
Yes, only in deep silence that one hears the *one hand clap* or the *soundless sound*.

The answers you're talking about are knowledge. Knowledge is subject to the matter at hand. Truth is not. In my opinion Truth is formless.Dude...
All truth is a question and answer event.
No one can tell the truth, without someone else asking questions.
Now...if you guys want to say there are no answers.....
Then the property of silence is yours...not mine.
Truth is.................what?
The answers you're talking about are knowledge. Knowledge is subject to the matter at hand. Truth is not. In my opinion Truth is formless.
Friend Thief,
Thief exists is a TRUTH but then what is THIEF?

Thief is a rogue theologian that believes in life after death.
Friend Thief,
You missed the point.
You have already assumed the human form and top of that of a theologian.
What is every being rather every form and no-form is in essence?

You are missing the point.
The title is...speaker of the way.
A SPEAKER OF THE WAY
The Buddha was asked:
-To what extent can a person be a speaker of the way?
He answered:
-If a person teaches the way in order to transcend the tyranny of the
material things and to teach how to transcend feelings, perceptions,
impulses, and consciousness - teaching nonattachments with regard
to these - then that person can be called a speaker of the way.
If he is himself trying to transcend the pull of the material world and
feel nonattachment toward it, then it is fitting to say he is living in
accordance with the way.
If he is liberated by this transcendance an nonattachment,
then you can say he has found nirvana here and now.
Friend Thief,
Then read and understand as to who is a speaker of the *WAY*:

Since this thread is stretching like a chewing gum,i think it would be better to move this thread to Comparative religion/Religious debates DIR.
Though I do not share your apparent Christian sentiments, I do agree, wholeheartedly, with the core of what you are saying. You are missing the point.
The title is...speaker of the way.
Speaking is an action of mind and heart.
Showing someone else the 'way' is a cognitive effort.
Yet you go on about losing that ability, as if the loss is desirable.
And all of that, in the face of human life, obviously designed to create individuals, having unique perspectives, and the likelihood of life after death.
The human body is a learning tool. There is no mystery to life.
You are here to learn all that you can before you die.
You were made to become a unique and ever lasting person.
Losing your 'self' is contrary to the obvious scheme of life.
Buddha is not alone in this rejection of the material desire.
What does a *BUDDHA* mean????
But regardless of who you follow....
Personally follow none; understand most!
Denial of material desire does not say you will lose your thoughts or feelings at the end of your days.
No one stated that stilling the mind [thoughts] one loses them, Its like a gestalt where thoughts recede to the background; is all that is to be understood.
The practice of denial is thought to enhance the likelihood that you will 'crossover'....and to be accepted by those gone before you.
The practice is one of *ACCEPTANCE* and not denial and am a professional where thoughts are used when necessary.
Self denial is incorrectly stated that you deny who and what you are.
Self denial is a practice...a preparation for 'crossing over'.
You came into this world naked.
You will leave this world naked.
Material desire does little for the hour of your last breath.
No, disagreement here!
Easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle....
than for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven.
Heaven / hell are all HERE-NOW!

Friend Thief,
You are speaking of death, life is what Zen is speaking of. They are different. You have consistently tried to point out that after death... when we die... when you fall to the dust...Denial of material desire does not say you will lose your thoughts or feelings at the end of your days.
