Actually it should be a clue to you that a day in the creation account does not mean a 24 hour day as we know it. Chapter 2 is a recap or summary of the creation. Since you seem set on figuring they might have sinned after the 7th day .. and do not want to consider that each day of creation is not a 24 hour period and the seventh day was not said to have ended while the other six days had a beginning and an end I guess we can leave the conversation. I enjoyed going over the biblical information with you even though it seems you're not willing to accept that the first 6 days of creation had a beginning and an end but the 7th does not have an end.

I'm perfectly fine with the idea that the days of Genesis are not literal. You're projecting things onto me that I didn't say. If you believe that the seven days in Genesis 1 can be "summarized" as a single day in the next narrative, then it shouldn't matter so much to you what happened on this day or that anyway. My point was simply that the text doesn't say. Which is true.

No, what? No, there are no issues of greater importance than whether Adam sinned on the seventh day? Lol. I feel genuinely bad for you if that's really how you feel.
I think it's very important to understand what happened at the beginning of human life and the days of creation.

Obviously we're having distinctly different viewpoints about this. You believe the two accounts are at odds with each other. I do not see the chapters differing but rather see chapter 2 as a summary. I realize you may not accept this. The DAYS are not 24 hours each, that to me is obvious. But each of the first 6 days are said to have a beginning and an end and the 7th does not and that is the point right now since the 6th day of creation was said to have ended and God saw it was good.

No the word day does not have to mean 24 hours. (the end...)

If you interpret them non-literally, no, I don't think that. You're trying to shoehorn one particular interpretation from one account onto the other, and my point is that's neither indicated by the text nor is it even necessary.

Through this whole interaction you've misunderstood me.

It is important. They didn't sin on the 6th day which is certainly not a 24 hour period anyway and neither is the 7th day a 24 hour period. The 7th day has not ended yet.

Okay. Go argue with someone else now
Who's arguing? I'm presenting facts. You don't see them as such. Since it's clear that the 7th day has no ending but the other 6 days do, something seems wrong with your response. Because you're not admitting what's there. Or don't want to. I'm saying that on the sixth day the Bible says everything was good. It was not a 24 hour period. Bye for now.

The lady doth protest too much.

LOL sure. Toodles.
You just don't want to admit it. Even if you don't believe it, the fact is that all 6 days had a beginning and an ending but...not...the 7th day. So yes, go argue with someone else.

You're so completely right and I'm so completely wrong. I have no clue what I'm talking about and you are a genius Biblical scholar who couldn't possibly be wrong.

I never said I'm completely right. Or that you're completely wrong. I am saying however in response to the idea that Adam and Eve sinned AFTER the 7th day, explaining that each day was not 24 hours and importantly that on the sixth day God said it was good. And the 7th creative day has not ended.

My gosh, the Pope YoursTrue has spoken again! How wrong I've been all this time! May none ever dare contradict you!

What makes me wonder is your continued overlooking the fact that the seventh day of creation is not said to have ended, but the other 6 days are said to have ended. At least admit what's there or not there...

Further I appreciate that you brought it up about when they sinned because I enjoyed giving the account a closer look.

Never thank me! I am but a worm before your perfection! May none ever question your interpretations!

The account in Genesis doesn't say the 7th day ended. The first 6 days ended, not the 7th day though.
