In the Hell there are places of pain, most popular is the fire but we see some other places where we find the cold, the big snakes and scorpions etc., Of course our knowledge is limited and there may be some differencies in islam and christianity.
There are even differences in what the Bible really teaches, and what the churches have borrowed from non-Christian sources now taught as Scripture.
The idea of an immortal soul is Not taught in Scripture but derived from pagan philosophy.
The soul that sins dies according to Ezekiel 18 vs 4,20
Gospel writer Luke wrote at Acts [3 v 23] that the soul can be destroyed.
All the wicked will be destroyed forever.-Psalm 92 v7
Because Scripture teaches the mortal soul dies [Ezekiel 18 vs 4, 20],
and the dead are Not conscious of anything.- Ecclesiastes 9 v 5,
then that is why Jesus' teachings likens death to sleep.- John 11 vs 11-14.
Sleep in silence.-Psalms 6 v 5; 13 v 3; 115 v 17; 146 v 4
That makes the 'biblical hell' [sheol] the common grave of mankind.
The common grave where the dead sleep the deep unconscious sleep of death until resurrected out of the Bible's temporary hell.
Just as God resurrected Jesus out of hell. -Acts 2 vs 31,32; Psalm 16 v 10
Jesus now has they keys to unlock hell [Revelation 1 v 18]
Once everyone in the Bible's hell [gravedom] is 'delivered up' meaning resurrected out of hell, then emptied-out hell is cast into a symbolic 'second death' [Revelation 20 vs 13,14]
The Bible's hell ends up vacant of all people.
The temporary Bible's hell 'dies' out of existence forever during Jesus coming 1000-year reign over earth.
