And The Border Is Secure??????

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
No. It's your ignorance that is the problem here. Not NPR or any other news agency that reports the contrary.
NPR, Newsweek, PBS, the BBC - they're all wrong. And Argentbear is right. I'm not reading that whole bill by the way, are you?

Seems that the White House and the Border Czar is silent on these figures.
Number of non-detained noncitizens convicted homicide and sexault assualt
Homicide- 13,099
Sexault assualt 15,811
The non-detained docket includes noncitizens who have final orders of removal or are going through removal proceedings but are not in ICE custody.
There are more than 7.4 million people on that docket, up from around 3.7 million when former President Trump left office.

In addition:
ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner sent a letter Wednesday to U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, saying as of July 21, there were 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories on the agency’s non-detained docket (NDD), meaning they are not detained while they await immigration proceedings.
“Of those, 435,719 are convicted criminals, and 226,847 have pending criminal charges,”
Looks like Pope Trump should have blessed the immigration bill that had bipartisan support before he rebuked it.

Just like the many claims made about Obama Care, when flat out asked to point to the actual bill where what was claimed existed, those making the claimerss either flat out refused to present them or ran tail tucked.

The exact same has been the case here on RF with S.4361 - Border Act of 2024

Nope, I gave the actual sources. Newsweek, PBS, the BBC, Reuters. There were many, many more but I felt like those were the most reputable.

You can't get more accurate to the bill than the actual bill so you are probably right, the news organisations you mentioned are likely to be wrong.
What I find amusing is that I have never made the claim that the news media is wrong.
I merely asked where in the bill does the bill state what it is claimed the bill states.

I mean, seriously, all they have to do is present, from the bill, where it states what it is being claimed it states.

But instead of merely doing so, people are whining about how others are allegedly claiming the news media is wrong.

rather amusing.
At least to me.

Where in the bill does it state what your sources claim it states?

Really simple question.

Or so I thought.

I don't want to read the whole bill. Neither do you.

In fact, I am not going to because it would be a colossal waste of my time. Meanwhile, is Reuters, the PBS, Newsweek, and the BBC wrong?

Bull ****.
I have read the bill and did not find it.

However, I am not so arrogant as to think there is no way I could have missed it.
Thus I flat out asked those making the claim to point it out.

You can call it bull **** all you want, but I am telling you, I am not going to read it because 1) I don't want to and 2) it would be a colossal waste of my time. Meanwhile, are you saying that the BBC, PBS, Newsweek, and Reuters are all wrong?

See what I mean? LOL

I do not know.

Apparently neither does anyone else.

Of course, being demonized simply for asking where in the bill the bill states what it is being claimed the bill states is rather sus, don't you think?

LOL, I am not demonizing anyone, I'm simply asking if the BBC, PBS, Reuters, and Newsweek, among others I might add (like the AP) are wrong about this.

I'm figuring that you either missed it or it's pretty unclear. Could be either one. or both!

I called bull **** your bold empty claim that I did not want to read the bill.
Which is complete and utter bull **** since I have already read it.

but I am telling you, I am not going to read it because 1) I don't want to and 2) it would be a colossal waste of my time.
You go right ahead and take it on blind faith.
I am not one to do so.

no, I do not.

But I do see that further discussion on the topic with someone who is not going to bother to bring themselves up to speed on the situation is not productive.

As I stated, I am not demonizing anyone. Asking for clarification.
