Anti-Islamic Sentiment on RF

I want Khilafah back
I don't know what Islam was made for, but that is certainly how it is being used in many places now. Can you doubt it?

Can Saudi Arabian women vote?

so you are saying that saudi arabia and it's laws represent the true islam?

Gharib

I want Khilafah back
Well I've said it every way I know how other than standing on my head. Do you get what I'm driving at, .lava? That is has nothing to do with what the qur'an says, True Islam, or proper Islamic doctrine? It's about what is actually happening in the real world?

so you should know that in the real world people tend to be dissobedent and are affected by say, non-islamic culture and tradition. but you didn't know that right?

I dont know if you have noticed it, but propagandas reach the top when it comes to Muslims. :)

actually they do, the sad thing is our scholars do not refute it. one good thing about refuting something that makes headlines is that the muslims as well as the non-muslims will learn the right islamic perspective.

Not interested; it's beside the point. This thread is not about what True Islam teaches. it's about what actual Muslims do.
If you do not understand true Islam then who can you call an actual Muslim?

If no Muslim practices 'True Islam', who is an 'actual Muslim'?
So far we have seen members slandering the sects of other members, members declaring that other Muslims are not 'true Muslims', etc.
So who can show us the 'true Islam'? is the 'true Islam' the kind that most Muslim members propagate on this forum in the form of condemning gays? or condemning apostates, or condemning people who's crime was running a horoscope?

You can find the true Islam by yourself if you try enough :), you just start by reading Quran then reading Sunnah (prophetic sayings) and you connect it to how it was practiced at the time of the prophet sallalahu alayhi wassalam, and BINGO you'll have just found it.

Hullo fatima,

I have read the Qur'an in Hebrew and in English. the problem with your assertion to connect it to how it was practiced during the time of the prophet is mainly that Muslims and non Muslims have different interpretations of Muhammad and his movement, between traditional dogma which declares the Qur'an to be divinely transmitted, and between the problems in preception with western scholar that Edward Said pointed out in Orientalism, we find ourselves walking on a thin line when discussing these matters.
one issue being, that many members would find the same problems we debate in the modern Islamic world to be existing in the Islamic world in its infancy.

Then why is it so hard for Muslims to do?

those hadiths, Kai, hadiths that add laws to Sharia as if there were laws missing in Qur'an. other than blatantly covering the truth to fool others and ignoring it, this appears to be the main reason

OK i agree with you Lava.

also i think a lot of people cannot read the Quran so they believe what village elders tell them, so a lot of cultural stuff gets substituted for Quran.

that's actually what i mean by blatantly covering up the truth. people are uneducated and they listen to leaders. those religious leaders...well some of them do know the truth, Kai. that's one of the kind of man i would not stand up for in case he was sentenced to death. if Muslims check out hadiths they would find very interesting ones such as where he SAW says that religious leaders in end times would be the source of fitnah. the source of fitnah! the source, for God's sake! this is happening and we all see it almost everyday. so everything is up-side down. enemies of Allah named as men of God and they are on the stage. they are shameless, powerful and scary

i don't know. i can't speak for all nations. in Turkey education system would not encourage children to read and to investigate. there is also poverty. people are surrended by problems because of it. so a teenagers who's supposed to go to school rather work to help family. peple are mostly struggling with daily issues. i don't know if there are more social factors for it. i am saying what i think but there are people who have better answers.

is it high in USA?

Dear kai,

Allah says in Quran (3:140)
"so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allh may test those who believe"

Once upon a time, we were the most educated person on earth while most of the rest were living in the darkness of ignorance :) But Inshallah, as Im living in a muslim country , I assure you that thanks God, things are starting to become better and better. :)

Good question Kai,this hadith seems straight forward, but is it?

Abdullah bin Amar (ra) relates that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said "Surely things will happen to my people as happened earlier to Israelites, they will resemble each other like one shoe in a pair resembles the other to the extent that if anyone among the Israelites has openly committed adultery to his mother there will be some who will do this in my Ummah as well, verily the Israelites were divided into 72 sections but my people will be divided into 73 sections, all of them will be in the fire except one." The companions asked, 'Who are they O Messenger of Allah,' Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "They are those who will be like me and my companions

i understand you probably don't believe in all authentic hadith ,lava....but i think you should be careful while talking about such a great sciencein Islam...the science of hadith...i prefer to let the authetification to the scholars....and not for everyone to toss his opinion on the matter
