england, is islam the only tue religion to you or christianity. Islam or christianity should be the answer nothing more ok
Neither are. See, so simple. What you do not understand, Eselam, is that so-called "truth" is relative.

That seems to be another bizarre thing that I’ve seen muslims do a lot. They seem to act as though somehow disproving Christianity will magically make Islâm the truth.

You know, a sad irony for me as an atheist, and a very enthusiastic student of religions is that I actually get to appreciate grand faiths such as Islam and Christianity in a none comparative way.

which people have we forced?

I am not saying you, specifically. I am referring to governments that abuse their power and pass outrageous laws that ban people exercising freedom of speech and freedom to think and believe what they want (ie, laws against converting to a religion or religions, banning proselytizing or debating religion, etc...)

I can see that you don't have a problem with openly discussing beliefs. I am, however, still a little unsure of your opinion on changing religions.

It doesn't have to be either or does it? I mean, I'm Christian but I believe a great deal of Islam (or, as I'm learning, not Islam as a whole but the ideas expressed in the Quran).

but you said you had a choice, now you changed that choice to nothing. that means you are worse off than the muslims (according to you, who have no choice)

Nothing means i have chosen not to follow a Man made religion or in fact any religion especially any that includes do this or you are going to Hell.

The Lost One
The funniest thing about Afghanistan, in regarding to the case about Abdul Rahman is that they have constitution about freedom of religion. Freedom of religion is rather limited if a person can't leave Islam or can't possess the bible or can't talk about the conversion without the getting arrested.

The Muslim idea of freedom of religion is also laughable, when the Afghan implementation of the shariah, which mandate death penalty upon those who has committed apostasy.

His own bl@#dy family had disassociated with him, and were the one who had him arrested, showed that Muslims are intolerant towards those who leave their faith for another.

It is coercive religion and law.

I was really hoping more Muslims would have the courage like Eselam and proud Muslim to contribute to this thread but it is as i feared, not many takers.

Response: The issue has been dealt with so many times by other muslims, including myself already. If you have muslims addressing the issue for you already, why are you so interested in hearing other muslims?

In what way has it been dealt with, does that mean Apostates will no longer be killed or imprisoned and disowned by their families.

Response: Your opening post requested an explaination for apostasy and you've received that. So in that "way" your question has been dealt with. As for whether or not apostates will no longer be killed or imprisoned or disowned by their families, neither I or anyone else can know the answer as to what other people will or will not do.
