Aussies to vote soon on whether to make gay marriage legal

No, it isn't. Jesus said that He came not to abolish but to fulfill the law - including the Old Testament laws concerning homosexuality.
Is there a law in the OT that forbids homosexuals from marrying?

Breaking my own rule here but I thought it was the best place to post.
You guys tie yourself up in knots trying to be "objective" and "supporting everything you say". It comes across as constipated and defensive and utterly boring. Think about it. Do you really want be like that for the rest of your lives?
sayonara guys
the pleasure was all yours
So what's the deal here? You like utterly boring posts? You're making a study of utterly boring and non-boring posts? You lost a bet and have to read utterly boring posts? You're committed to reading utterly boring posts to the blind?

When I come across utterly boring posts I ignore them and go on, but then that's me.

Because voting based on your religious beliefs is the same as attempting to force others to live according to those beliefs. I don't think religious beliefs should have any impact on politics/policy whatsoever.
That's going too far. Otherwise you're against people supporting humanitarian policies because they're inspired by their religion. It's only natural that people are going to br politically inspired by their worldview. Otherwise their religion is vapid.

So, you don't wear fabric blends? You never answered back at your parents? I guess not, since you weren't executed for it. Own any slaves?

Did you miss that part where I talked about Jesus teaching mercy?

What does that have to do with fuel prices going up because of Harvey? Do you follow the Law as not set aside by Jesus?

Well, you need to read Paul's letters, he was the Apostle sent to minister to the Gentiles.

Perhaps to minister and tell them about Jesus, but not go on tirades and diatribes about sex, sex, and more sex. He had a real hang up about sex ("ya think, DiNozzo?").

Yeah, but you wouldn't take any notice of an Old Covenant law, would you?

Neither Jesus or any of His apostles said it is okay for homosexuals to marry. The Apostle Paul did say that homosexuality is sin and should not be practiced. Every definition of marriage given in the Bible defines marriage as between a man and a woman only. There is no homosexual marriage. It is an unholy union.

Homosexuals cannot marry under OT law because marriage is defined as being one man and woman only.

Ah ha! There's the flaw in your argument... secular nations are not bound by the Old, New, or Mildly-Aged Testament.

It's true that Jesus wanted all the old testament laws to be fulfilled, because many had been ignored.

But Jesus was a Jew speaking to Jews about Jews.

Now Paul is an interesting case, because he lived into his 60's I reckon but never claimed to have been married. For a Jew to live past 25yrs and not be married was an extremely strange thing, and Paul really did rant about homosexuality.

Methinks he doth protest too much!

That doesn't change what God and His apostles had to say about it, however. It is still sin and all,of mankind is bound to obey God. Reread Genesis.

Have you read the book of Acts? I suggest you read it.

I've read it in the past. I know about the food business. I'm not talking about food. I'm talking about all the other proscriptions in the OT that were not set aside that people ignore.

Your opinion doesn't change what is written and it doesn't change the fact that Paul was an Apostle inspired by the Holy Spirit. We don't get to vote on it.

Well, you need to put the truck ahead of the wagon. Without Christ you can do nothing.
