At the risk of sounding like a broken record, wasn't your post #345 a joke about sexual assault?

It was a response to your joke about anyone being able to kick my butt.

I was talking about my daughter outranking me, and you decided to make a short joke suggesting that I'm an easy target.

Yes, yes, I understand that, but to introduce a strike to the groin is unwanted sexual contact of the assault kind. I only point out that you engage in similar humor. You & I both might tread more carefully.

You're serious?

I think your attention in addressing what tone and what jokes needs to be policed needs to be re-evaluated.

We are addressing impropriety of jokes about sexual assault at this very moment. I'm saying that post #345 is as problematic as Bob's posts. Both were in jest, but both do trivialize assault to some extent.

Maybe we can use that dumb joke for a lesson. Some rape is due to misunderstandings. The teller of "the joke" has been riled up by other forum posters and out comes a bad joke. Some men get riled up by their companion and then take what they think is naturally theirs. That is wrong. How did the rapist (who is not a serial rapist) get riled up for sex? By being with the one he wants to have sex with. How might a person know the person they want to be with might do that? There might be a process that can be learned.

How about "I'll go out with you but not for sex. OK?" Then if the one saying that changes her mind, well too bad.
