If we have better options, why are they not being employed?

Tommy Robinson should never have been sent to a Muslim dominated prison. The prison service has a duty of care to protect their inmates. This is not happening. How many inmates are being forced to convert to Islam for their own safety?

If you were convicted of a crime, would you want to be sent to a prison that is dominated by these perpetrators?

You forget that we're being ruled over by a bunch of right-wing elitists who are playing on xenophobia and stoking anti-foreigner, anti-disabled and anti-poor sentiments who actively don't want these better options to be used because people will then realise it's not immigrants, the poor and the unemployed who are destroying our society.

The Mirror breaks down the religious demographics for the prisons Yaxley-Lennon was most likely in - none of them are Muslim-majority.

How on earth would you know? If this truly is a widespread problem why aren't more prisoners speaking out about it? Should we take the word of Yaxley-Lennon who is in remarkably good shape for a man who was fed only one tin of tuna a day; who was kept in solitary 23.5 hours out of 24 but somehow had **** flung through the bars by Muslim inmates who had access to him at all times of the day?

Nah; they're just a right, leaning to the far-right, party who is attempting to scapegoat an entire religious group for many of the ills in our society while deliberately ignoring other sources of the same problems - many of whom are worse. They're also using apparent moral concerns as dog-whistle politics e.g. the Rotherham child abuse scandal.

The likes of UKIP and the EDL have positioned themselves as moral crusaders who are concerned with exposing child abuse and protecting kids. But

• What did UKIP or the EDL have to say when the Catholic child abuse scandal came to light?
• What did UKIP or the EDL have to say when it became apparent that Church of England bishops were covering up historical child abuse just like their Catholic counterparts?
• What did the EDL have to say when one of its senior members was found to have abused a schoolgirl for years?

The fact remains that now the justice system is starting to pick these cases up and prosecute those responsible. No thanks to the likes of Yaxley-Lennon who endangered the trial of a pair of alleged child-abusers with his 'reporting' and risked them getting off on a mistrial.

If you were convicted of a crime, would you want to be sent to a prison that is dominated by these perpetrators?

Given that I'm over 18 and given that there is no prison with a Muslim-majority population, I don't think that'd ever happen.

Lesser men than Tommy Robinson would have been mentally and physically broken by the way he was treated by our prison system. The way he was treated is no doubt acceptable in Islamic societies but it should not be acceptable to any right minded person.

I still don't see the problem - a minority of countries are going against the grain and being penalised for it.
