Why would I find ten scriptures from the Bible to explain my spiritual beliefs when I'm a spiritualist and Pagan (e.g., Wiccan and Druid, as well as learning Hinduism/Krishna)? What would be the point? And yes, I occasionally enjoy debating just for the sake of debating. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I see your point thanks.

Here's a challenge for some thinking people here.

Can anyone name me another book which in as many words as are found in Genesis 1 through 10
explains roughly the same number of vital matters about the world?

It should ONE other book, ancient or modern. And it should say pretty much the same "firsts" in as many words as are found in the first 10 chapters of Genesis.

1. The origin of space and matter.
2. The origin of biological life
3. The origin of human beings
4. The origin of vegatarian diet
5 The origin of human evil doing
6. The origin of death
7. The origin of marriage
8. The first family on earth
9. The first human worshippers
10. The first murder.
11. The first human city
12. The first nomad
13. The first calling on God by people
14. The origin of metal work
15. The origin of cattle raising
16. The origin of musical performance.
17. The first polygamist
18. The oldest man who ever lived
19. The first libertarian society (anarchy in a strict sense)
20. The description of the moral state of all society
21. The record of world wide divine judgment
22. The record of divine rescue from world wide divine judgment
23. The origin of human government and capital punishment
24. The origin of meat eating
25. The origin of the first nation state
26. The origin of the diversity of languages

All you need is love.
@walt asked: Do you have 10 scriptures to explain the details of your belief?

I think he was asking you for scriptures that explain the details of your spiritualist and Pagan beliefs.
I don't think that he was asking for ten scriptures from the Bible.

Yes, that's what I thought and understood. I apologize if my response to him didn't convey that.

Many people in the Bible talk to God in prayer, the Bible encourages people to talk to him in prayer, the bible strongly discourages people to talk with the Dead. Such actions are forbidden and against God's will.
The early Church believed that the saints on Earth can ask the saints in Heaven to pray to God for them.
"...I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen."

I am a little odd, I am a scripture guy, I look to see what Jesus said and the Apostles said or even something in the Old Testament. I consider Jesus and the Apostles the leaders of the Earliest Christian Church. You have your way you're comfortable with and I have my way.

Thanks so much for your words, :sparklingheart: we may believe differently on some things, you love Jesus and his Father and so do I. :sparklingheart: :twohearts: :)

Google says:
There are over 45,000 Christian denominations in the world, and the number of denominations continues to grow. These denominations range in size from millions of members to fewer than 100.
  • Roman Catholicism: 1.3 billion people around the world. -Google

That is indeed a problem since an 'unseen force' can never be 'pinpointed'. ;)
Paul, if I recall aright, used the wind as an example of an unseen force.

But as you know from all those hours you've spent testing things in wind tunnels, just add smoke and you can see what the wind is doing. (Or as a song from my infancy put it, Who has seen the wind? / Neither you nor I / But when the trees bow down their heads / The wind is passing by.)

Hmm. Interesting theology.

From my PoV the problem is to pinpoint any real examples of such an 'unseen force'.
Ok that's an interesting question. So just giving circumstances in the Bible, when Paul, then known as Saul, was approached

Interesting, because when I was looking things up, particularly about Paul's 'introduction' to Jesus, he was blinded. And he asked, Lord, who are you? Nevertheless, he was blinded for a while by that great light.
The description at Acts chapter 9:
Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” 5And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.” 7The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

When a woman who was a slave and made money for her masters because of her power of prediction was announcing about Jesus, Paul recognized she was inhabited by a spirit. It was expelled, but it was not seen. Acts 16 in part describes this occurrence.
"As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” 18And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.
19But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rules."

The point I am trying to make is that this woman was inhabited with a spirit, but when it was expelled it was not seen.

I find it interesting, though, about the prayer Jesus told his disciples to pray. The Lord's Prayer. He said (various translations):

New International Version
“This, then, is how you should pray: “’Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

New Living Translation
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

English Standard Version
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Berean Standard Bible
So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

Berean Literal Bible
Therefore pray you like this: 'Our Father in the heavens, hallowed be Your name!

So Jesus told his disciples how they would pray to a large extent which covers so much ground as to our relationship with God.

I consider Jesus and the Apostles the leaders of the Earliest Christian Church.

And that is the Catholic Church.

With the Apostles and their followers, the earliest name for their church was "the Way", as in "I am the way, the truth, and the light". In the 2nd century, "Christian" became more what it was called even though many theologians believe it was an insulting term given by outsiders to them. During that same century, the descriptors "catholic" (universal) and "orthodox" (truth) were used, and then the former of the two became its more official name in the late 3rd/early 4th centuries.

Thanks so much for your words, :sparklingheart: we may believe differently on some things, you love Jesus and his Father and so do I. :sparklingheart: :twohearts: :)

Ditto, and may God bless you & yours.

I think it's good to learn why people believe things.
Why people believe things is not the same as what people believe.
We have not talked about why people believe things, only about what people believe.

Do you know why you believe what you believe? Could you explain that to someone?
I could explain why I believe what I believe if someone asked me.

Why? For me I have to be certain about the information that leads me to believe something, I make a list of the pros and cons to believing something, after I finish the questions and find the answers, I can be much more certain about why I believe something.

I develop what I believe, from all the research I become certain about, after I finish my list, and provide the answers.

For example, I write at the top of a piece of paper: Why should I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God?

And then I make a list of the pros and cons, for or against a belief?

Can you share the pros and cons of believing in the Bible and being a member of the JW church?

Can you share some of those things that are on your list?

For example:
Why do you believe the Bible is the inspired word of God?
Why did you choose to join the JW church rather than another Christian church?
