Can gays or bisexuals be Christian?

Well, how do you come to that conclusion?

I explain it in post #30. I assume you disagree with those who believe homosexuality is (edit) not a sin. If you are speaking biblically, yes it is. If you are medically, no it is not. The former is specifically to action. The latter attraction.

Are you a homosexual who believes homosexuality a sin?o_O

Gay Christian 101 - Affirming God's glorious gospel good news for all LGBTs. Click the preceeding link for proof of the affirmative answer I support. I am a Christian, and I love Yeshua so much. If I could take a special pill to not be bisexual, I would. Why would I choose to be demonized by the three Abrahamic faiths.
"Bi" is not such a Christian thingy, maybe better to stick to "Tri", that seems to be more accepted.

By the way, I am not a Christian, I am demonized also by quite a few. If that gives any consolation.

What is Not acceptable in Scripture is fornication ( porneia ).
So, anyone who is single should Not fornicate.
jesus didn't teach this. he never once uses such a word.

harlotry isn't about love. harlotry is using sex to get something. it's a quid pro quo act, like idolatry, vs love establish two as equal.

jesus said the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of heaven before the religious elitist. interesting that the most reviled were the first and the honored would be the last.

Song of Solomon 8:6
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

jesus was definitely against idolatry, adultery. he crusaded against it. when you see the abomination that causes desolation.................christians who worship a man are practicing the abomination.

Porneia includes more than natural sex between male and female, but wrong to have sex with an animal, etc.
I find the ' past tense ' is used at 1 Corinthians 6:11 A.
obviously paul missed the point of love vs jesus didn't crusade against homosexuality.

So, anyone who is single can choose to be single as Jesus was.
Since we are nearing the soon coming time of Revelation 22:2 when there will be ' healing ' for earth's nations, then righteous mankind will gain human perfection as originally was in Eden. This is why we are all invited to pray the invitation of Revelation 22:20 for Jesus to come ! Come and bring ' healing ' to earth's nations.
In the mean time, we can all follow Jesus' teaching of what is morally acceptable to practice.

jesus and john were both affectionate towards one another; just as david and jonathan were. you can't be fully human and loveless.

You keep making this error. The writers of the Bible said it was bad not God. You need more than a book of myths to claim it is unnatural. Your version of God may not be happy with it, but that does not mean that all interpret the Bible in the same way that you do.

First of all, though you don't believe God dictated the Bible, that it's divinely inspired, there are people who disagree with you. Either way, the Bible - namely the Hebrew and Christian Greek scriptures, both condemn homosexuality. You would have to be stupid to interpret Leviticus 20:13 and 1 Corinthians 6:9 any other way. It's no t a metaphysical concept, it's pretty straight forward, no pun intended.

Yes, you have made that claim before , and it may go a long way to explain your rather strange beliefs. And I do believe that you would be doing some special pleading. By the same nature the OT laws about sex only apply to the ancient Hebrews. I am glad that we got that straightened out.

Have we?

I do believe that he is non-practicing. It appears that he does not understand Matthew 5 27-28.

Divinely inspired does not mean perfect. As a Christian that should give you hope since parts of the Bible are obviously wrong. And Leviticus also bans shellfish and polyester. Earlier you said that does not matter. When it comes to 1 Cor 6 : 9 it appears that there are different translations. For example the first interpretation from the BibleHub:

"Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men"

If you can follow your own arguments we have. But I may be overly optimistic in that regard.

I have to admit, that appears to be a clever obfuscation of the Bible. Specifical?

That's correct. I used to engage in gay sex, homosexuality. It took me a while, but I eventually stopped. I haven't had sex in over a decade. It's almost like I'm married in that regard . . . :D

Christianity is essentially the following the teachings of christ. Anyone is capable of that, male, female, black, white, straight, gay. Even hitler did it in his screwed up, perverted way.

Much of the problem is because some straight christians are intolerant of gays. Interesting really because the nt devotes only about 0.003% of its content to gay bashing and about 0.3% to loving one another.

Also, lets take the kinsey scale into account. It would seem that many of those objecting to gays being christian are homosexual to some degree. Is that a personal conundrum that fuels the hatred of gays?

It was a spelling error. I meant specifically.

I am a gay woman. I am gay because I find a spiritual, mental, and physical connection with people who so happen to share the same parts as me. Nothing more.

I am a lesbian. I have a specific sexual orientation to where I am physically attracted to women.

I can have sex with a guy
I can have children
I can marry

I am still a gay woman
I am still a lesbian

I am not a homosexual based on biblical definitions. Im actually single. Anyone can be biblically homosexual.

Im more of an identity person so I wont question how you define yourself as a former homosexual.

I disagree anyone can be a former straight person but biblical and medical definitions of homosexuality are totally different.

I am a gay woman.
I am a lesbian.
I am not homosexual.

If going by scripture.

Yeah. Always liked those verses. I think its a definition thing. That and people have always beem bias of sexuality. I wouldnt be surprised if the biblical translations were off. But I think believers are reading the bible out of context.

Well. If that type of sex harms you spiritually, I can see why you stoped.

I just think outside your personal experiences and biblical context, look at it from a non bias (nonsubjective) view.

Would you be asexual if you have not had sex anytime in your life? (Say you were bedridden since childhood or isolated from people)

Jesus in me
Indeed you can. The bible is flexible enough, that really, so long as you are not having a relationship with someone who is already married? You're pretty good to go.

Those that claim otherwise, pretty much ignore most of the rest of the bible anyway-- so just ignore those people--- they think they have the right to tell everyone but themselves how to live.

I believe that amounts to the blind leading the blind.

The question in the OP asks:
Can gays or bisexuals be Christian?
Is this really asking, can a person who is sexually attracted to both males and females be Christian?
Isn't the answer a resounding 'No'?

A Christian is a follower of Christ - One who follows his example, and teachings.
So in order to be a Christian, one must be applying the teaching of Christ in one's life.

It sometimes take time for one to do this, based on his/her/it background.
For example, a drug addict may take time to get over a bad habit, but when they work at it, in time with God's help, they can overcome the temptation to give in, and they may get to a point where their wrong desire is suppressed.

When that person reaches a reasonable point in their progress - then they can become a Christian, because they have repented and made a resolve in their hearts to do God's will.

Of course, no one changes overnight, so there must be a way to help the person to change their thinking. Learning of God's ways will help in that regard... according to the scriptures.
