Where did you find the thing for each state? I already know Indiana more than leans towards being Conservative, but I am curious as to how far right it puts this state.

I knew Wagner would be on the right, but wow he was about opposite of where I'm at. Oh well, he still composed some great music.

Left hand side had "US states 2008" based on incubents

US State Senatorial Positions

click the boxes you want then hit submit.

By the way... my state is more liberal and economically socialist than both New York State and your state.

Oh my god, both my favorite composers are right wing libertarians. I feel confused now.

At least they weren't authoritarian on social/personal freedoms.

To me, social/personal freedom supersedes economic freedom in importance.

I'm not sure what you mean by economic freedom, to be honest. Are you talking about the freedom of the super-rich to amass a limitless amount of control over a country's economy and turn the rest of the population into serfs?

You have got to be kidding.

With globalization there has been a massive shift in most politics to blue. Look at the chart for where the UK political parties have shifted in the last 20 or 30 years, all have moved very much so to blue.

oh also guys I looked at Obama and he used to be really close to the center till he got elected. Though I suspect that is true of most presidents.

Exactly. You can't just reorient the centre of the chart to sit in the middle of the Western governments because then there would be no place to put Ghandi, Mandela, the Pope, or Ron Paul. All Western governments have a pronounced lean toward capitalism and authoritarianism. That's just the way it is.

Iam sorry but that picture is just pure crazyness.

Sweden is supposed to be more right wing authocratic than france? I mean seriously? lol

Norway would probably be a fascist dictatorship in a graph.

And where would the US be? Somewhere 20 miles of to the right?

I gave charts of that in this post (the US states are based on our Senators)

http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/3055993-post361.html

But thats not the right graph. Compared to european countries the USA is far more right wing than anything in europe. Some european countries are more authocratic(Belarus, Ukraine or Russia) but generally the US is more than on another continent than europe.

There was a nice picture illustrating that... be right back.
