Firstly Backwards wasn't the term in question it was ''savage'' , secondly, while to me backwards is an old fashioned word with no relevance whatsoever, but I do believe Saudi Arabia is beset by terrible corruption and that the power vacuum in Somalia has and will continue to be a cause of violent upheaval, I wouldn't call the people of either country ''savages''

You wouldn't consider the hanging of homosexuals, the genital mutilation of female children, or the stoning deaths of rape victims as savagery? Societies that value rights, liberty and equality are superior to those that don't.

What country did you have in mind when you say value rights, liberty and equality?

Well, it seems I'm munching the same green grass as the rest of ya'll. I'm a little surprised-- I thought I was more right and more south.

True. Also, some of the questions were so loaded that you HAD to either strongly agree or disagree. If you didn't do either, you would be a jerk.
I could think of an exception to almost everything, so it was actually pretty rare for me to strongly agree or strongly disagree.

Yes that's exactly the same for me. I found the test rather misleading because I had choose something I wouldn't ordinarily agree with much.

Surely it is fair to say that a country like Norway is relatively civilized and North Korea is savage?

I've moved to the left a little bit. Hooray for being one of the, like, three people in the purple box!
