Confused about Sikhism/Hinduism differences

In the recently held 2014 General Elections, the party position in Punjab is shown in the graph. Akali Dal and Congress have equal share, i.e., 31%. BJP's share increased due to 'Modi Effect':

Punjab-Lok-Sabha-Election-Winning.png
3822AE89529B8B2A25526478CE631F.jpg

Why don't the numbers in each chart match? Why did all 3 big Punjabi parties (INC, BJP,SAD) lose seats in the second picture???

Watched the documentary I posted on the previous page; Gandhi didn't pass Anandpur Sahib as she thought it would have favoured Punjab over other states. But the army imposed a curfew during Blue Star and the pilgrims could not get out of Amritsar's complex. And the army shot and tortured many Sikh males when they arrested them

R.e Hinduism, if Hindu Gods are not from Vedas and Geeta/Ramayan/Mahabharat are not Vedas, why do people say Hinduism is defined by Vedas? With reference to that, if SGGS says Hindu Gods like Brahma,Shiva,Vishnu,Rama,Krishna exist (Ganesh,Hanuman and Durga in Dasam Granth), what is the difference in Hindu Sikh beliefs as Hindus believe these beings were created or are manifestations of Brahman or Waheguru

And the 1947 boundaries, I assume that there were 'too many' Muslims in Panjab and 'too many' Hindus in India so the Sikhs got the short end of the stick because they weren't enough to warrant an independent Khalistan????

I like the beliefs of Sikhi, why are Indian Hindus (Gujaratis like me and Maharashtrans especially) brought up to be weak? Why poor genetics/ upbringing based on using brains and not exercising (except 'girly' sports like Badminton or Cricket)? Sikhs and Rajputs are Indian but they are strong; same as the state where Kalari comes from

This is a discussion-only (no debate) thread on the differences between Sikhism and Hinduism. Any discussion and debate and outside of that topic will be deleted. If members want to post controversial statements prone to debate, post them in a debate area.

Relevant rule sections:

Rule 3: Posts that are deliberately inflammatory in order to provoke a vehement response from other users. This includes both verbal statements and images and

Rule 10: For any DIR or discussion sub-forum that is colored green, non-members of that area may make respectful posts that comply with the tenets and spirit of that area. This includes questions, as well as knowledgeable comments in mind.

Posts not in keeping with these rules will be treated as violations.

The Sikhs online (who are allegedly Canadian and British) mock Hinduism.

Yet I find few Sikhs online defending India's action/condemning that actions of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale; Sant Jee should have understood that Operation Blue Star was a possibility.

But the documentary I saw shows that the Sikhs of Amritsar had no issue with him staying there and Indira Gandhi did not want to pass Anandpur Sahib as she didn't want to give Punjab favouritism. Yet peaceful protests were crushed by Congress

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7auoBtycRg

I remember another individual who wanted people of a specific religion dead too: Hitler

And I watched the documentary on the bombing of Air India. How/why did the Canadian security allow a bag with a bomb on board and why were the tapes erased?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS_4ZNa1ByI

They say that there wasn't enough evidence to apprehend the suspects yet after 9/11 the USA apprehended KSM and Bin Laden. Of course the USA had data going back to 1993 and 1998.

Why didn't the USA learn from Canada's bombing?

And I still have no answer as to why Sri Guru Granth Sahib mentions Hindu Gods as one could say they serve Waheguru and have a purpose; Baba Sri Chand believed this. Hindu Gods (in some branches) serve below the formless Brahman too.

Patels are very hardworking and strong. I am a Lohana though; supposed to be a Kshatriya descendant of Raam! How can we be more prone to diabetes/getting fat and have weaker muscles compared to the Patels?

And Modi reminds me of Harvey Dent

Still doesn't address my points though r.e.

Air India's lackadasical security
The mention of Hindu Gods in Sri Guru Granth Sahib
Why Bhindranwale was allowed to stay in Harmandir Sahid/ why he didn't think this was a possibility

I also see that Sikhs are strong but most are Jatt. Any Jatt Hindus or non-Jatt Sikhs??
There are legions.

Patels are the hardest workers and are quite strong mentally and physically. Though they seem to be a balance.

List of people with surname Patel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though being a Kshatriya and 'descendant' of Ram, I begin to doubt the caste system's legitimacy as my physical prowess is average at best

I also see that Sikhs are strong but most are Jatt. Any Jatt Hindus or non-Jatt Sikhs??
I'm not sure about Patel's being strong physically, I highly doubt that. They are intelligent though. My mom is a Khatri from punjab which is the same clan that all the Sikh gurus belong to from Guru Gobind Singh maharaj all the way back to Guru Nanak maharaj.

Many Patels were farmers
Many Sikhs were farmers
So with that analogy it means farmers=strong

And we're going off topic.

How would this be a 'lapse' of evidence??? The Western world didn't have enough evidence Al Qaeda did 9/11 except when Ahmed Shah Massoud said something was happening and because of 1993 and 1998 attacks

But the Canadians didn't detain the Khalistanis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7auoBtycRg

Why did Bhindranwale hide if he knew Blue Star was possible.

Though the video says the army created a curfew, even on pilgrims in the temple.

http://indianexpress.com/article/opinion/columns/first-person-second-draft-once-upon-a-bloody-time/

And why did Baba Sri Chand choose Hinduism?

Why do Sikhs say they're not a 'branch' of Hinduism? If they are not then why the mention of Hindu Gods??

And why do they hate RSS?

and the most obvious question that I missed out:

why do Hindus visit Gurudwara?

why do Jains visit Mandir?

Because the Benti Chaupai is one of many examples that have conflicting verses:

kal paeh brhma bup dhra. kal paeh siv joo avtra. kal paeh kr bisnu prkasa skl kal ka kia tmasa. (7)
Time came when Brahma appeared in physical form, then Shiva was incarnated and then Visnu. It is all the Play of the Temporal Lord. (7)

kahoon phool raja hvai baitha kahoon simit bhio sunkr aikaitha sgri sirsti dikhaeh achunbhv adi jugadi sroop suyunbhv. (19)
Sometime You joyfully appear in the form of Brahma expanding the creation, and some time in the form of contracting and dissolving Shiva. He shows His miraculous deeds to all His creation of the Universe. He, the Primal Power, born of Himself is since the beginning of beginning. (19)
Paahe gahe jab te tumre tab te kou aankh tare nahi aanyo|| Raam Raheem Puraan Kuraan aneyk kahai mat eyk na maanyo||
O God ! the day when I caught hold of your feet, I do not bring anyone else under my sight; none other is liked by me now; the Puranas and the Quran try to know Thee by the names of Ram and Rahim and talk about you through several stories, but I do not accept these

and in 1984 at least 5000 Sikhs (3000 Delhi + 2000) were murdered. Gurudwaras were destroyed too.

Sikhism welcomes all, so why do we only see Hindus as the other guests?

and why do Jains visit Hindu Mandir? Unless it's because I live in UK

Please answer why the West didn't learn from Air India bombing/how it happened in the first place. Because 9/11 was so long after it seems we didn't learn.
Yet the proponents of the bombing weren't punished or detained whereas USA acted decisively

And if Bhindranwale et al were so bad, why did the Sikhs of SGPC allow him to stay there.

Because they rever Sri Guru Nanak and other Sikh Gurus. A Gurudwara is no different for a North Indian Hindu than a temple. Don't know when my daughter-in-law would take up another vow to visit Gurudwara for a month. She has a sikh ancestry (grandmother). 1980's was a bad phase which now 30 year old.

Perhaps it is because there may not be any Jain temple in their neighborhood. Do any of the temples have idol of Mahavira Swami? I think they should have. Other than Buddha, Mahavira was an original thinker and a radical. I would not mind him to be listed as a Hindu avatara.

The West is selfish. They wake up only when the fire reaches them. I do not know how USA acted decisively. Daud Ibrahim was declared a terrorist only when some Americans died in Mumbai hotel attacks and not after the Mumbai train attacks in which 209 people were killed and over 700 were injured..

At that time, the power was in the hands of terrorists, many of them Pakistanis in Sikh disguise.

If there were Hindu casualties in 1984, why are the Hindus not protesting at what the Sikhs have done? I do not think thousands of Hindus were killed because if it were true then we'd have protests against Hindu deaths.

On youtube a Hindu living in Punjab as a Hindu said Bhindranwale was a terrorist and there was Sikh militancy. But as Aupmanyav said, a lot of the Sikhs were ISI agents.

And Poeticus provided me with this article on Bhindranwale

First Person, Second Draft: Once upon a bloody time | The Indian Express

Well I posted on Sikh Sangat;realising that they're all pretty ignorant there before signing up, I saw that my entire topic post was deleted and it didn't allow me to post the hierarchy of Hindu Gods as an image.

Sikh Sangat is 'voice of the Sikhs' and is a well presented website but they all seem to be anti-Indian, anti-Hindu and pro-Khalistanis.

Anyway, I do not think Khalistan would work because if they were to be free from India, it means India would want nothing to do with them. Unless of course, India needs the grains and wheat from Punjab. But they'd be stuck between India and Pakistan and Pakistan would see them as India/ wouldn't be friendly to them (Pakistan has few non-Muslim allies).

It's not Israel that Khalistan would be able to survive surrounded by enemies

And I see that the maps drawn are 'ambitious'
