Right and it should serve as a reminder or as a reference point, if you will, so that we can gain a knowledge of what is beautiful and what is not.
God can and does create ugliness, in order that we might know beauty.
We can also create ugliness in our lives and in those around us, the reverse is also true of course.
That's not exactly the reason I like ugly things. I don't like ugliness because it lets me know what beauty is, I like ugliness for its own worth.
Artistically, I can enjoy anything ugly, dirty, and imperfect. These things seem to affect us the most, and last far longer than beauty.
Beauty is nice to look at, but everything else is more interesting.
