Did Jesus say he was God???

I have been asked to produce evidence of the divinity of Jesus. This is not just good evidence, it is overwhelming evidence.
you forgot to insert the word "biblical" between "overwhelming" and "evidence"

thusly it isn't empirical evidence...

Again, we are discussing the bible.

so historical events do not count to refute your argument
how is that working for you?

edit:
actually no, we are not discussing the bible..
the OP never mentioned the bible. the OP mentions evidence...failing to mention it was biblical evidence.
meaning lack of empirical evidence

Not me.
However, you could see from the rest of that post and the whole thread that the discussion was about the bible.

no this thread is about "overwhelming evidence"
failing to apply it as biblical evidence, which really only accounts for subjective evidence
which really adds up to nothing substantial

Instead of arguing what he meant or didn't mean, why don't you discuss the evidences given here.
Otherwise it's a waste of time indeed.

objective evidence is validated by a third party... subjective evidence is opinion
is it any wonder why there are so many interpretations of the bible?
we all know opinions are like __________
everyone has one

You still didn't discuss anything.
Saying things like "in your mind" ... is useless and proves nothing.
The decent thing to do is to discuss the evidences given.

"in your mind" puts this entire thread in it's objective perspective
that this evidence is based on opinion.
