Are there still people in the 21st century that believe all humans are descendents from Adam and Eve, only two people?
Wouldn't that mean that when they had children, to have more children,,,
-the dad/mom had to sleep with their son/daughter,,,
-brother/sisters slept together,,,
-aunts/uncles slept with nephews/nieces
-etc.
If not can some logically explain how they populated the earth without doing any of that?
By the way, all of that is forbidden in the bible
I believe that the psyche of modern humans descended from Adam and Eve. The change was not about biological reproduction. It was a psychological change, similar to saying all Christians descended from Jesus Christ. This spreading of the word was not based on biological reproduction, but a psychological type transfer of information and feelings. Priests and nuns do not reproduce biologically but do reproduce the word through actions and teaching.
If you consider the formation of civilization, the original natural human of that time; psychological pre-humans, had to overcome eons of instinct and conditioning from being migratory herders and gatherers. They had to learn to become squatters, which required repression of the old natural ways. Civilization, in turned, then changed the physical environment into something that was far less natural. There was a psychological realignment that formed a new type of human.
Adam and Eve, originally had two sons, Cain and Abel. Cain was the tiller of the soil and Abel was a herder of animals, When Cain kills Abel, farming symbolically superseded migratory herding, allowing civilization to become fixed. This change had a psychological impact leading to the first modern humans. The pre-humans were made obsolete and/or conquered as civilization and the new humans expanded, reproduced and taught the new ways.
Science has demonstrated that the invention of writing occurred about 6000 years old. This coincides with the biblical account of the universe being 6000 years old. In the beginning was the word and the word was God. Writing crested a new awakening in the mind. Writing changed the way the human mind worked, since it made it difficult to forget and flow with instinct. This was not natural and caused repression. Written law of good and evil; tree of knowledge of good and evil, altered the psyche in a powerful way. Loss of paradise was symbolic of loss of instinct.
Scientific evidence shows that some earlier civilizations formed over 10,000 years ago, but these would all abort. The first stable civilization was around 6000 years ago, with the invention of writing. Without writing the memory would forget and the tricks of the forefathers would be lost. This caused the earliest attempts at civilization to abort. Writing changed this, by offering a type of unnatural capacitance for external information storage. The result was a new type of human would appear.
Picture going to school where there is no writing. The teacher teaches and you need to listen and remember. There are no books to read or notes to review. At the same time, your class mates each remember differently, so everyone cannot agree on what was said. This type of confused information is soon forgotten.
Writing changed the dynamics of learning by offering a tangible way to agree and review, so all were on the same page. Adam may have invented writing and Eve may have been his first student. They taught others, who then had selective advantage in any environment. Legion has it, Adam was good and science and math which were needed for civilization.
The worse pitfall was using writing to define law of good and evil. Law can be subjective and is often temporal. The prolonging of obsolete law, due to writing, led to loss of instinct; tree of life is removed. The bible goes on to show the psychological damage that would occur, as the humans become unnatural, up through the age of Noah. The great flood is symbolic of a unconscious readjustment of the human psyche since the operating system of the human brain is based on DNA and a major update was needed to accommodate the new ego. Most did not make it to the other side of the update; corrupt files. They were overwhelmed by the unconscious; drowning in confusion. The clear headed would have selective advantages; Noah and family. The two of each animal symbolized saving male and female instincts; part of the needed update.
