Do You Attend Church?

I am not a churchgoer either, or a christian, but I have had some contact with churches as a child.
Yes, same with me. My childhood experiences were negative in the extreme. Nothing I saw in my teens and twenties did much to alter that.
My separation from the church is based simply on what I would be expected to believe. Original sin, virgin birth, god having a son, and the resurrection are all totally unbelievable to me.

God is everywhere, apparently.
Everytime I hear someone say that, I'm reminded of one of the most brilliant comedians in Belgium called "Urbanus".
It's more cabaret style comedy. Really stupid jokes that are so stupid they become hilarious - and the guy's "aura" makes it exponentially funny.

He had this sketch / story about how a pastor came into his classroom when he was young. Class was over but they still had to wait an hour before they could go home and told the pastor "we want to go home, but we can't yet and we are soooo bored!"

pastor: "oh, then i'll tell you about god..."
Ubranus: "yeah sure, let us be bored some more..."
pastor: proceeds talking about the creation story and then say "and god is everywhere!"
Urbanus: "is he also in our garden??"
pastor (somewhat annoyed): "yes urbanus, also in your garden!!"
Ubranus: "bwahahaha, we don't have a garden!!!"
After that the pastor got furious and they started fighting.

I guess you had to be there... nearly pissed my pants!

I smiled when I read that. Stupid jokes are funny because they're stupid.

I believe that is true but His presence is encountered in church. That is what Jesus promised would happen. The reality is that people tend to focus on the world when out in the world and focus on God when in church.

I believe I have never stated that the evidence didn't exist , only that it did not prove the theory.
That's not exactly profound.
No theory, legal, scientific, can ever be proved.
By definition.

What you- somehow- manage to evade, deny,
or fail to understand is that facts / evidence which
DISPROVES a belief is abomdantly around us every day.

You believe your kid is the tallest in his class?
You believe your check for a million dollars wont bounce?
You believe Dallas is in France?

You believe the facts that disprove there was no flood
exist, but you still believe there was a flood?

And you accuse others of denial of truth, and being illogical.

I have given up my search. What is want is community and service, not religion. It pains me to be agnostic though. Like I am untethered. I was fine before I originally became a Christian. It totally screwed up my positive mindset, yet somehow it's weird not to be part of it.

Freedom from group think. Is precious. You will form new networks, with others on your wavelength. Birds of a feather will flock together!
Fellow agnostic!

I believe you need to explain to me how you became a Christian in such a way that it would ruin a positive mindset. It certainly didn't work that way for me.

I believe the Baptist church provides that. There are only two ordinances: baptism and communion. Everything else is open for discussion of what the Bible says.

Yes, I am interested in things, outside of the scope of Biblical theology. So that sounds great, if you're interested in discussing matters pertaining to the Bible specifically. Not me personally. Obviously.

I do sometimes attend a Church but hitherto I could not find a Church where the priest would say what Jesus/Yeshua - the truthful Israelite Messiah did say or the priest and the Church people would do what Jesus himself did, please, right?
