I don't think this is a very accurate analogy. When someone "pirates" a movie they are just making a copy and passing that along. The owner still has the origional. It would be more accurate to say that I have a replicating machine and I made an exact copy of Fluffy's car and then allowed others to make an exact copy of my copy. Fluffy won't miss anything because Fluffy's car is right there where it belongs. Fluffy can't claim to have missed a sale simply because I copied the car, since there are many cars I don't copy that I don't buy.
That analogy doesn't work because in it Fluffy doesn't loose anything.
