What? Me worry?
They usually sit around calculating pi or e out to tens of thousands of decimal places.
And sometimes they watch porn....really high class intellectual porn (where the women
wear glasses & the men have slide rules).

It's not like they're being asked to decipher a Bilderberg lunch order. Make a decision. (BTW I've seen that video with the slide rules. Great ending.)

You can't rush into these things...consequences must be weighed.
As CCypher pointed out, if they allow a capitalist DIR, then there
will be a KKK DIR, Stormfront DIR, pen collector DIR, neckbeard DIR,
& perhaps even a Revoltifarian DIR!

It occurs to me that we need a symbol for the patron saint of prudery & censorship.
I nominate Dolores Umbridge (of Harry Potter fame)....

This is exactly why we shouldn't have a Capitalist subforum. Certain people like Revolting are going to try to define some people as non-capitalist if they do not fit their standards of capitalism. It going to lead to bullying, trolling and other headaches.

I would like to nominate Cynthia to become Staff. We need some good libs on our side. Do I start a new poll.....that only allows yes votes...to nominate her? :D

I don't know.
I vaguely recall talk about doing it to some under-utilized forum.

Ok, I'm not invisible :p

I'm curious because I get wanting to add DIRs, but I'm wondering about whether DIRs ever go away if the consensus - by lack of participation - is that they're not needed anymore. My vote doesn't really matter at this point, but it's relevant to me for the future.

You might be suffering from a disorder known as "engineer syndrome".
It's a compulsion to design efficient & elegant systems, & paring away
unused components is one facet. There is no cure for this. I suffer too.

Ha! But I do think it's relevant - if such a DIR is made and then left unused after perhaps initial activity - is it possible to relocate the threads to the nearest related forum and close the DIR? Is it a good idea to do so? Does it ultimately matter if we have 100s of dead forums? It's all digital so it's just about filing.

You are not invisible. Apparently nobody who posts in the thread knows.

The staff seem to be boycotting this thread. Maybe they are just afraid to rush in where angels fear to tread. If the ancients like Rev and concerned citizens like Cynthia don't know, it's probably never happened. That means its probably never been needed.

Doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. An explosion of forums about Egyptian political candidates and "Hello Kitty" might elicit a different response from the staff.

... so where is the DIR located? I want to "come out of the shadows" and supplement my religiousity with a spice of capitalism freshness and boldness. I may even find some business partners. I am thinking of starting my own "Hindu God Posters" biz on eBay.

There are DIRs that sit empty or long dormant. I'm not advocating that such DIRs be closed down, just questioning whether it's a practice.
