Does Atheism Lead to Immoral Behavior?

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.
I'd say your views on women are chauvinistic in nature.

I agree.

I'd use much stronger words

My sentiments exactly. I've previously expressed my disgust in this thread as well.

This is like two posts in a row here, where you basically equate atheists with pedophiles, while completely ignoring the poster's point and displaying the exact behaviour said poster accused you of, all while proclaiming that you're just being "truthful" with your use of hate speech.

I've read just about as much as I can take, I think.

Some of the most hateful and prejudiced people I've ever met are Christians, and the majority of them are evangelicals. Most of them are cunning, hiding their hatred and religious intolerance behind the pretense of "speaking God's truth" and "spreading the gospel." Some, on the other hand, don't bother to hide their true colors while preaching about "God's love" and how they "hate the sin but love the sinner." Yes, there are some Christians who do practice what they preach, but I think they are the exception, not the rule. To be honest, I'd despise Christians if it weren't for the very few I know who walk the walk.

The more I see on rf the more I agree with the above.

You have a long history of saying misogynistic things about women. Your reputation is already set.
It seems to me that it is all about authority.
Women despising men, and refusing to obey them,,
Men despising their bosses and leaders etc. etc.

Society turns away from G-d at its peril.

Contingent on that methodological naturalism is correct, off course. If that is wrong, then science is wrong.
You really have to learn the difference between that one and philosophical naturalism.

Not going to persuade me with philosophy.
Hard for me to see philosophy as anything but mental masturbation.

Whatever chemical stimulation you get from philosophy I don't have the genetics for.
That be funny though, the difference in ideological positions coming down to a difference in genetics.

It seems that women in the US in particular, have very strong views
on "how women should be treated"..

How awful it is for a woman to have mind of her own and actually think for herself without an arrogant, misogynistic man telling her what to think, what to say, and how to behave. Now why would a woman never want to be under the thumb of a man and be his doormat? How dare she think for herself.

And yes, I am being sarcastic on purpose.

We all have our culture, I suppose .. but don't expect me to like that aspect..
..because I don't.

Don't fret, because that's not what we (those of us who interact with you and staunchly disagree with you) expect from you.

It seems to me that it is all about authority.

It has less to do with authority and more to do with standing up and speaking out against religious misogynistic bigotry and sexism.

Women despising men, and refusing to obey them,,

Case in point.

Men despising their bosses and leaders etc. etc.

Respect is earned, not commanded.

..and of course .. the authority of God? Hmmm.

Now it's perfectly clear where all of this sexism, bigotry, misogyny, and the rest of the patriarchal, male-chauvinist bull comes from.

It all comes from the Bible and the Quran, which both teach toxic masculinity and sexism towards women.

I think that the concept of "respect" is lost on some people..
They seem to think that they only have to respect people "if they've earnt it".

By that token, we should all go around disrespecting each other, until
proved that they deserve it.

..no more "Ladies and Gentlemen" .. more like a bunch of animals!

There is no reason for women to obey men, other than the fact that men, by virtue of being physically stronger, can bully us with brute force.

I don't despise men. I think men are WONDERFUL. But no, I'm not going to obey a man as if he is somehow over me. I am an adult, not a child.

Your post above is just another one in a long long line of misogynistic posts.

You're equating rebellion against you with rebellion against God?
It is nothing to do with me .. it is not a personal comment.
It is a general comment about women who disrespect their husband's wishes..
That is against what God has taught us in the Bible and Qur'an.

We turn away from God at our peril.
The plight of you or I does NOT change anything.
